I am looking for a new florida guide book mine is"The Everything you need to know about WDW" from 2002. I have seen "The unofficial guide to WDW 2005 " on the net. Is this the best one? Does it also give plenty of info about Universal and SW? Let me know if there are better ones out there and what is a good price $14 with shipping :teacher: is about the prices I've seen. Also is it worth it or will it be basically the same as my 2002 one. :confused3

My favorite is the Unofficial Guide, there is a lot of Universal and SeaWorld info, plus I'm pretty sure there's touring plans for those parks also :)

Our favorite is ug buy it every trip. some people love tour guide mike but he is only on line . Never had trouble getting everything done with UG. :cool1:

I looked at the Passporter in the bookstore today and was VERY impressed with it...I only wish it included US, IOA and Sea World as well but if I was only going to be doing Disney parks I would definitely go with the Passporter.

I've checked out 4 different books on WDW from my local library. They are Frommer's, Fodor's, The Econoguide, and Birnbaum's guide to WDW and Orlando (including Universal and Seaworld too). They are all the 2005 editions. The Unofficial Guide to WDW 2005 edition was checked out but I'll be able to pick it up on Tuesday. So far, I've liked "Frommer's Walt Disney World & Orlando 2005" the best.

The UG is great-very detailed and it does have info on Universal and Sea World. I always order mine from amazon.

The Passporter is good for actually doing your documentation of your trip. It isn't as packed with information as the UG but has GREAT PARK MAPS, storage pockets and places to record all your travel info such as PS's, daily plans, airline/car rental information, reservation numbers, etc.

Each has dining and attraction reviews which I thought were very helpful and interesting.

I bought the UG this year for general reading. I will buy both next year since we have a 2006 trip scheduled. UG for the detail information and the Passporter to track planning info and for those great maps.

I would also add there have been a lot of changes since 2002-a whole new ticket system and lots of dining plan changes so I definitely think it would be worth it to get a new book.

I have to have the Unofficial Guide - Sam's club carries it btw - I second the suggestion of looking thru the library! I did buy a Passporter, but right now, I'm afraid of messing it up!! And they dont have the tour suggestions the UG has, and the maps are great, but you cant take them out, w/o ripping from the book (unless you go deluxe) Keep in mind these editions were printed before MYw tickets - and the UG they have the website, that's a great resource http://www.touringplans.com/index.html
