Richard, you will be picking your luggage back up in the morning in the terminal and going throug customs. You can add your toiletries bag into your luggage at that time.

.

Much appreciated. Was wondering how that would happen.

May one ask what "bump" means? I've seen it several times on this thread, and have puzzled until my puzzler is sore (thanks, Dr. Seuss!) about what it means.

Thanks!

It means the person is only posting a reply in order to bump the thread to the top of the first page, usually so that more people can see it/add to it.

Welcome, Futurist!

If you're interested in knowing where your cabin is in relation to other parts of the ship, say if you're on deck 8 and want to know what's making the noise above you on deck 9, or if you're forward and want to know how far you'll need to travel to get to Topsiders, there's a website now that allows you to start with one deck, and then take a 2nd deck, make it transparent, and then lay it on top of the first.

Here's how you do it. First, go to website http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/Main/shipsdisney.php/. Select either Magic or Wonder, depending on which ship you're interested in. On the RHS you'll see two lines highlighted in green. For once, read the instructions first by clicking the lower of the two lines, the one that says "Click here first for Instructions". (I know, I never read the instructions, either. I tried doing it without, and eventually had to go back and read them.) Then click on the line that says "Click here for DRAG IT DECKS!"

Now select the LOWER of the two decks you want to see, such as deck 8, from the list at the top left of the window. When the image appears, select it by clicking once. Now you can enlarge or reduce the image. Let's say you want to see your stateroom, for example the Walt Disney Suite. Move the image so you can see that suite, and enlarge, say, by clicking the enlarge button three times on the tools at the top right of the window. Keep track of the number of clicks you use.

Next, select the SECOND or upper deck, for example, deck 9. This will appear on screen overlaid and transparent, on top of the first deck you selected. Now click on it to select it with your cursor, and enlarge or shrink it with the same number of clicks as you did the other deck.

Finally, line the elevators up, one over the other. The elevators are (naturally) in exactly the same place on each deck, so when they're lined up, everything's lined up. You can now see through the upper deck (deck 9 in our example) and see what's directly above the Walt Disney Suite. Turns out it's Cove Cafe, a ping pong table, and a couple of tables and chairs from Signals bar.

Just another tools for those of us commando-type planners! ;)

This seems like invaluable information. We are planning on taking our first cruise next year. I feel so overwhelmed. We go to WDW every year and that planning has become a "piece of cake". With the cruise there seem to be so much more planning and deciding. I am glad that the boards are here.:)

To look ahead at the planned map and choose a room on the side the sun doesn't always come up on! Every morning of our Europe trip the sun woke me up at least an hour early (did get to see all of the dockings, however).

You know - I totally forgot to mention that about half way through the trip we realized we had not nearly enough hooks to hang things that were wet! We used the clothes line in the shower - but with no really good flow of air -- the bathing suits did not dry very quickly and we needed to use the shower. So next time, we are going to bring the hooks that you can put up and then take down without adding a mark -- I would say you probably need about two per person -- besides what is provided in the room.

Good point!:laundy:

can you explain what hooks you are referring too?

that was absolutely perfect Richard...thanks so much...Ive totally been trying to figure out what was going to be above my cabin and now I know...Im lucky...the quiet pool is right above me:cool1: :cool1:

The hooks I'm speaking of are made by 3M and they have a sticky tab that goes on the wall and then you put the hook on the sticky tab. When you want to take it off, you pull the "un" sticky side of the tab and the whole thing comes off the wall with no mark.

There's just not very much ventilation in the room, so hanging doesn't dry as fast and therefore we needed a little more space between things.

I decided that I was not doing one ioda of work on my vacation so I packed enough not to have to do laundry. I did have to wash out swim suits, but did that in the sinks.

You can get the hooks just about anywhere - Target (my favorite), Walmart, Kmart, etc.

Enjoy!

ah ok I use those as well...I have them behind my bedroom doors and bathroom door as well as on my front door so I can hang wreaths and things...However, in my experience it pulls off the paint on the doors...where do you hang them so that your swim suits are able to dry?

I most certanly agree. We are well versed in trips to WDW, In fact my DW can plan a trip in her sleep. This cruise stuff is all new to us but I can not wait untill Nov. 09.

Thanks for all the tips. :firefight

Ok I was reading about the sun screen Stuff. My DW (red hair and white as a sheet of paper) got this tip when we visited St Martin two years ago. When you get out of the ocean rinse off with fresh water. The salt from the ocean stays on your skin and acts as a magnifier for the rays. This is no sub for sun screen but it sure did make a difference for her. We now always carry a one liter bottle of fresh water with un when we go to the beach now.:firefight

I just stumbled onto it, and thought it would be perfect for this group....

I am big into scrapbooking but knew that I would want to do something quick for when I got home so people could see our pics. I bought a photo album in Treasure Ketch and a disney scrapbooking kit (lots of 2008 cruise stickers and stuff). I kept everything including the pricing from when we paid for the cruise and our travel directions from and to Florida. I got 2 extra navigators a day also. When I got home I copied our best of the best pics and placed Disney stickers and stuff on the pages with them. I had put my pics in order by day and used journal pages to say what we were doing that day and time in the pics. I put everything in the pages including our KTTW cards and dinner tickets, receipts from Nassau and room service and any letter and such we recieved from the boat. In the back of the book I added the see thru pages you use for reports and put my navigators in there by day using 2 for each day (turn the page inside out) and also put in the back our menu from the pirate party. I also kept a copy of our final bill and put it next to my reservation page. People think this is awesome cause one day my kids will know how much we spent and how much different things cost on the ship. I finished it in one day and everyone has asked me to do one for them.haha..It is such a lovely reminder of the fun we had, and what to look forward to the next time!!

You know, I forgot a tip I learned on board. We had several people to bring things home to and not a lot of space. Some people got special things, but some people just needed 'things.' It can add up to a lot of money but we realized that in each store on board there are sale sections and they have great deals! We found shot glasses for $2.99 and amazing soaps and lotions at 50% off. When I asked some of the folks in merchandising, they pointed out things that I didn't even realize were on sale at all!

Enjoy!

My favorite tip was about the teak lounge chairs on deck 4. My DH & I find our selves relaxing there atleast twice a day
