what would be the best building to stay at the pop? I have a 11 year old and a 15 year old and I would like our room to be close enough to the food court and gift shop that they can go by themselves. Any advice?:confused3 ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

I think the best buildings are the 60s. They are close to dining, bus and ouotdoor bar! The theming is really cool- groovy, flower power and all that and the kiddie pool, flower pool, and goofy surfboard water fountains splash are just great. I would pick the 50s as a 2nd choice. The theming there is cool, but the bowling pin pool is small. I thought the 70s and 80s were real duds. The big pool is a computer and not very "splashy". We had little ones and stayed at the corner most room near classic hall on the first floor- I forget the room number. Everything was so close for us with our 3 kids under 4 years of age!!! This was a couple of years ago, so maybe things in the 70s and 80s are a little jazzier. What we like too, about our 1st floor room was that when the kids fell asleep we could sit by the pool at a table outside our room and have drinks and dinner. We ate all our meals at the poolside table as well. It was almost like having our own patio at a value resort!

I'd recommend the 60s as well. We were right next to the very large pool...(and for those who enjoy adult beverages -- the Petal Bar), as well as the food court. Will be booking our next trip to Disney (November 2006) and can't wait to book a preferred room at Pop again!

We stayed in the 70's Big Wheel building and it was very close to Everything POP!

We just got back last week from Pop, and we stayed in the 90's building on the 1st floor overlooking a small grassy courtyard and the small edge of the 90's parking lot. At first, I was disappointed, because it is the farthest from the food court and bus stop, but once we got in the room, I was fine with it. The resort really isn't as spread out as I had heard. We didn't have a long hike to our room- in fact, the whole resort is surprisingly compact! The walk to the bus stop in the morning took less than 5 minutes (we cut through the parking lot), and the 80's/90's pool was feet from our 1st floor room door. We headed over to the 60's pool a few times, and it was a really nice walk past the lake and through the 70's courtyard to get to it. Took around 5 minutes, with the Pop Jets fountain along the way.

If you want to be as close as possible to the food court and busses, the 60's buildings or the 70's rooms closest to the Classic Hall are great.

Thanks. I think I will request the 60's or 70"s. I like the idea about being close to the food court, with the kids and all. Thanks again for all your help.......:)

The past two years we have stayed in the sixties section (pool view). Although, I am a tight wad, my wife and daughter are hooked on the 60s. I happen to think it is worth it also. We request a pool view and enjoy looking at the hippie dippie room late at night while everyone is having a fun time. It reminds us we are on vacation.

The only down-side of staying in this section is the noise. It dosen't bother us at all, but the pool is open to the wee hours and if you are sensitive to noise, this may not be for you. However, it is very close walk to Classic Hall.

Also, if you don't want to pay the extra money, I would suggest requesting the 50s section (get the number of the building closest to the food court, it is also very close).

Either way, this resort is great, enjoy.

we stayed in the 60's building and will again when we go in jan 07. we loved facing the pool and seeing the comings and goings to the food court etc. and all that was going on, it was part of the excitment of disney for us. we were on the 3rd floor right over the pool but, next trip we want 1st floor for the same reason that was posted b4. to be able to sit out by the pool after ds is asleep. it is worth the extra $ to be in this building for us. we had no noise at all that we were bothered by while in our room from outside once we shut our door. we are pretty laid back and small things don't get to us. :goodvibes
in our room we heard no noise from neighbors either (once we heard a toilet flush, but it sounded far away). dh and ds sleep dead to the world and i sleep with ear plugs when on vacation, as ds sometimes grinds his teeth in his sleep aaaahhhh just thinking of it gives me shivers, lol!! we slept in every morning until around 8:30ish, and loved to hear the place coming alive as we were getting ready for the day.

also the food court was never busy when we ate but, we were also eating around 9:30 in the morning and most had left for parks by then i am sure. (we refuse to rush while on vacation) we never left for a park b4 10AM just took advantage of emh and once we got to a park we stayed until it closed.
