What is the best "book series" you ever read

The three series that have always stood out for me are:

Foundation by Issac Asimov

Dune by Frank Herbert

Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien

Now was it just because they were the first series I had read way back when a teen? Would I feel as strongly about them if I were reading them all for the first time now, many years later?

DreamHouse Kings
YA novels by Robert Liparulo

Lord of the Rings

As a middle schooler I loved John Bellairs The House with a Clock in Its Walls( which I just found out yesterday that there is a movie coming out!);The Figure in the Shadows; and the Letter, the Witch and the Ring.

And I used to love The Xanth series by Pierce Anthony until I read some other things of his and I realized he has some awful themes running through his books and I'll never read anything of his again.

Harry Potter... I didn't even touch them until I was in my 20's because I HATE the movies, but I was bored one day and picked the first one up. The rest is history! The world J.K. has created is just so detailed and wonderous!

The Southern Vampire Mysteries series (Sookie Stackhouse/Ture Blood)- Love the lore, the setting, the character development... Disappointed in the last few books though.

I feel the same way about the Stephanie Plum series. Great books, I actually laughed out loud more than once(a first for me when reading), but they get dumber and dumber as the series goes on.

Outlander (I fell IN LOVE with the books first and then the tv series)
Discovery Of Witches (I can't wait for the tv series it looks AMAZING)

Women's Murder Club
Alex Cross
Michael Bennett
all by James Patterson

JA Jance's JP Beaumount, Ali Reynolds and Joanna Brady series

Harry Potter
As a child all the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books

I read about a dozen of the Hardy Boys books back in the later 1960's. That's the only series I recall reading.

There are a lot of good series mentioned here that I really enjoyed, but by far for me it’s the Harry Potter series. It’s the only series I’ve loved so much I’ve read the books more than twice.

Harry Potter
A Song of Ice and Fire
Twilight (yes, I’ll admit it)
Hunger Games although the 3rd one was depressing as heck
Vicky Bliss mysteries by Elizabeth Peters
Crystal Cave trilogy by Mary Stewart
Her Royal Spyness by Rhys Bowen

Another vote for Herriot's All Creatures series. I still reread them and continue to laugh and cry. When he died, I was so sad yet so very grateful for his books. I fed the kitties a can of wet food in his honor on the day I read of his passing.

Harry Potter
North and South trilogy - John Jakes
Kent Family Chronicles - John Jakes
Any and all Wilbur Smith series
First half of Outlander series. Second half not so much.
French Revolution trilogy - Jean Plaidy
