I have to start off by say thank you to everyone who posts on this boards, I have found so much great information....

I am sure like everyone I want to find the cheapest way to travel to DW. My options are to either fly from Vancouver or Drive to Seattle and fly from there. Living on Vancouver Island I would prefer not to have to drive my car across the ferry (rates keep going up to the point where it is cheaper to walk over and rent a car for the day)

Soo I would love to hear what the best rates you have seen in the past from YVR to Orlando? Cheapest I can find right now is around $575 pp. and $296 pp out of Seattle

I am wanting to take advantage of the free dining so we would be going the the end of August.

Thanks

Last year in September a friend of mine got Victoria to Seattle (on Alaska Airlines) for $75, then $99 Seattle to Orlando on Delta. Same price on the return trip. She had to take a red-eye for that price, but it was worth it. Not sure if they offer those rates in August. Free dining is also offered into the fall, and if you can go during that time the airfare is usually cheaper.

It's rare to find the real good deals out of YVR... we usually make our way to Seattle.

How long do you plan on being in the world? If you plan on being there less then a week and you want the cheapest way possible then definitely go through Seattle. I always find the prices from YVR going anywhere is always at least a few hundred dollars more then if you were to go through Seattle.

My girlfriend and I will be going to the world in June. When we travel we prefer to normally go through seattle but this trip we had a very specific time frame for our trip and wanted to take advantage of certain flights. We paid roughly $575CDN per person w/return. Although I saw some flights between $400 - $500 around the same dates.

The only other thing I would keep in mind is extra costs when driving to Seattle. You mentioned taking a ferry from the island which is one cost factor, also if you plan on driving to Seattle there will be a daily/weekly cost for you to park your car at the Seattle airport. This was a big factor for us this trip since we will be there for 2 weeks. The cost of parking at the Seattle airport was the same as if we went through YVR.

Best thing to do is really look at all your options and do as much research as you can. My girlfriend and I were watching flights daily/hourly just waiting for it to hit the right price. We did online searches, inquired by phone and went to different TA. But ended up booking through Expedia.ca.

I hope you find a great deal for your trip and will have a great and magical vacation. :cloud9:

I live in Victoria and factoring in ferry costs, hotel, etc, we have always found good deals flying Alaska airlines to Seattle and then to Orlando.

I love leaving on the 6 am from Victoria as we arrive in WDW by 4 pm:)

Prices are always changing depending on the exchange, but Sears has always got me a better price for Alaska airlines than anything I can find on-line. Last year we went to DL for $1300 CAD for 5 of us including all taxes. We have usually paid more than that for WDW, but have a check. Sears Travel has a great agent who I often use for disney trips and booking alaska airlines. PM if you want her name...but probably anyone can help you out.

Its worth a comparison. I hate wasting travel time driving, waiting for ferries etc. And if driving don't forget to add the parking fee too. That can really add up!

Thanks for the replies..

We will be going for 10 days, so if we end up leaving from seattle then we will have to drive down the night before and stay in a park in fly... with hotel, ferry etc I am prob looking at close etc $400

I feel like I am attached to this computer LOL.. checking rates etc

Sig, could you please pm me, I don't have enough posts to pm you lol
