What is the benefit of checking in online?

If I arrive early in the day anyhow (we fly into Orlando at 9:30AM) is there a real need to check in online? Will I be more likely to get my request, which is Grandstand or Congress Park? I don't care about view or whatever, but I don''t want our first trip, during peak season, to be in Carousel or Paddock as we won't have a car.

Do you have a request in for CP or Grandstand? If you do don't sweat it.

I got in late, 10:30 pm for our Thanksgiving trip and got our requested CP 2 br close to the quiet pool.

Are you booked on that 6:40 am NWA flight out of DTW?

It gives Disneys "Crack" IT shop a chance to mess up your reservation?

Seriously I have yet to see a real benefit and considering who is running it, I plan to wait until the "issues" are resolved.

Well Starr, it WAS the 6:40 NW flight, but now it is the 7AM NW flight--and the row 23 I had on the original 320 airbus? Now it's row 44 (out of 48) on a 757. Nothing like waiting for 300 slow people to get off of a plane in front of you. Fortunately I speedwalk through the airport, leaving kids and DH in my wake, knowing they'll meet me at the ME desk!
(that sounds really bad--but darn it, I want to be at SSR as soon as possible!)

The benefit should be that you won't have to wait as long at check in since they will have your info already. There should also be a separate line for pre checked in guests.
