So what kind of Christmas trees are we doing this year?
We have like 3. The cat has completely obliterated the "retro tree". We have the formal tree and village (in a room that we keep closed off from the cat), and the "fun room" tree (basement).
We have a small modern tree in our apartment. I got rid of my village years ago even though there was room for it in our house, I got tired of putting it all out. It was the village from Mervyn’s.
We only have 1 tree, no theme or anything - well I should say I've started adding new ornaments and culling older ones.
No Christmas Village, although we do really enjoy them! We don't have a place for one at the moment but in the next house if we do we have talked about collecting some items up for a Village to display during the holidays. They look so beautiful!
So you guys who do these have them from the same Company or mix & match?
We'll be putting up the tree this weekend. DH sometimes does a village -- we'll see if he's feeling up to it this year. I still have a lot of housework to do before Christmas can happen.
We have several trees and decorative set ups around our first floor. This is some of it. I still haven’t decided if I like the last tree multi colored or white. The closest thing I have to a village is that little display with all the candles. I used to have a train with it but it was such a pain. You can’t see it but the bar also has a long pine garland running between the two trees.
We put up 3 trees. The first pic is our dining room trees which face the front of our house/viewable from the road. They are "themed" with reds/candy - I'm far from a decorator though so they just are what they are They are flocked and make such a mess!
And this kitten is new to our home this year and while we have consistently always had a couple of cats, she is by far the most destructive when it comes to Christmas decor. But she is just so darn cute
And lastly our tree in our living room that is just our life - lots of Disney and other Travel ornaments, lots my child has made through the years, etc. This is truly my favorite kind of tree - I love digging the ornaments out each year and walking down memory lane.
No Christmas village for us. I love the concept and idea but I did a few pieces early on in our married life and it just wasn't for me. So I enjoy others that do them My daughter is 15 and mentioned having one - we have a huge collection of village pieces in our basement that we inherited from my husbands grandmother - she is welcome to put it up anytime she wants but it's just not something I plan to do.
