For two people? If you don't order two of everything. We'd probably do one appetizer, two entrees and maybe a dessert. We do not drink alcohol.

I've looked at the prices on allears, but then I've seen where people spend a lot.

I'm just trying to decide, if it's going to be super high, I'll just pay for the dining plan. If not, then I can go cheaper without the DP.

Thanks!

Well if you've looked at the menu on allears, just figure out what you'll probably order and go from there. Most spend a lot at CG, but since the prices are listed, just decide what you want.

Well, I can add up what I would want. But it's a surprise for DH, where we're eating. So, I'm trying to decide what he would want and if he would want to try some sushi also.:)

So, I'd like to get a general idea of what the bill is for others. I'm thinking $100-150.

All I can tell you is what it WOULD have cost us to eat there if we did not have the dining plan.

The first time we went on the DDP it was 107.00

The second time it was more....probably around 120.00 on the plan and then another 20 or so for the drinks we had.

Both times we got the apps entrees and dessert. DH got the Cheese plate for his dessert and the shushi for his app the second time around.

I will say the food was WONDERFUL, OUT OF THIS WORLD! I loved every minute and every bit. I would have probably paid OOP for it as well!

One appetizer and two entrees cost us about $90 with tip. We ordered alcoholic drinks while we were waiting so with those I guess it would be somehwere around $105. Have a wonderful time!

It's really hard to say, but I would plan on somewhere around $100 (because you already know you won't be drinking alcohol). If you weren't planning on getting the DDP, then I wouldn't get it just for this. Either way though, the food is fantastic (the best restaurant in WDW in my opinion), so I think it will be worth it for you if you pay OOP.

P.S. - If your hubbie likes sushi, he will be in heaven with the sushi there!

Thank you all SO much for replying!

I've "guess-timated" what our bill would be around $104 for two entrees, DH to have sushi, me to have a salad and split a dessert. That's before tax and tip. So, around $135 give or take total.

We will be there for three nights. Our CG dinner is night one (Thurs). Full day at MK (Fri) and full day hanging out at the resort (Sat). And then, we'd leave Sunday.

To add DDP to our ressie would be $234. So, I'm looking at trying to decide if we would spend $100 on food the rest of our time. We wouldn't eat any more table service if we didn't do the DDP.

Am I overthinking this? I'm starting to think I should just get DDP.

If you're staying 3 nights, you'll get 6 CS Credits and 6 Snack Credits to use as well. Using Allears, an average CS lunch or dinner would cost about $15 per person for combo meal, dessert and drink inc the tax (included on DDP) for a total cost of $90. Then you have 6 snack credits and even if you only use them on water and the occaisional Mickey Bar, for an average of $2.50 per credit for a total cost of $15 which adds up to over $100 for the snacks and CS meals and then you have 2 additional TS Credits for whichever meal TS meal you choose for FREE :cool1:

SO, it seems like the DDP would work well for you, assuming you plan to eat your meals in Disney. Hope this helps - I'm in the middle of meal planning myself - strange how I can be so obsessed with dinner in 3 months when I don't even know what I'm making for dinner tommorow.:rotfl2:

First...very funny WDWfor5..lol...planning dinners so far in advance when I cannot even figure out for dinner for the rest of the week:) So true....

Anyway...My opinion...go for DDP...for 3 nights..it will be cost effective since you do have to eat the other days...have fun planning!

Its been reported that CG does exclude the Snake in the Grass from the DDP, so you'd have to pay OOP for that, about $25.

Your credits are valid until 11:59pm Sunday. Here is a sample credit plan for your trip:

Thursday: TS 1-4 at CA Grille (minimum value $110-$135)

ALL of THESE would cost you $100-$125 TOTAL on DDP:
Friday: 2 CS credits at MK, 4 snack credits(fries, sweets, drinks, etc.)
Saturday: 2 CS credits at resort, 2 snack credits, 2 TS credits for dinner
Sunday: 2 CS credits for breakfast before leaving

When we ate there in May, the CG did exclude the Snake in the Grass, and they also excluded Yoshie's Deluxe Sushi Platter when using the DDP. DBF ordered the Tuna Three Ways and just to give you an idea of how much he liked it, we cancelled our ADR for the next night so that we could go back to the CG and he could order the tuna app again (everything else was amazing too)!

PrincessMinnie28, thanks for the correction/addition. The DDP Sticky indicates that the Yoshi platter is considered an entree, rather than an appetizer. We'll need to get the Sticky updated to make it not a DDP option!
