I have been searching for our August car rental and Alamo is pretty much our best bet but I still feel the need to do the daily check to see if rates went down. I have been using AAA for the search because the site allows me to check numerous codes at the same time. During one of the checks I get a rate for Hertz at $127.96 but I had to prepay. I had the choice of a full size car or a SUV but the SUV was a Ford Escape, so small. My Alamo rate is down to $100 for our 4 day rental but we are picking up at MCO and returning to Universal. Hertz is the onsite agency at Universal so it would make life a bit easier to use them over Alamo. Anyhow, while I research the car the rate disappears. I tried all day yesterday and never found the rate again. Finally, at 11pm last night I get the rate to show again but when I click through it the price reverts back to the typical $589 total rate.
Wake in middle of night and decide to check again. This time the rate works when I click through, go to book the SUV and notice that the Escape will only hold 3 pieces of luggage.
So go to grab the full size and again rates are gone. Can't find them again. So can anyone tell me what the deal is with these rates.
