We just returned from our first stay at the DL hotel. Since we've been going there I've always wanted to stay onsite but by getting 3.5 star hotel rooms for $65 a night we just couldn't justify the cost difference. Decided this time we would try it since we were able to get the AP rate. (Also tried PP in December.) Walked in the room expecting this fabulous and gorgeous room and finding myself disappointed. The room was a good size and clean but it was in definite need of a little refreshing. The shower head was so short I even had to duck to wash my hair and I'm not an exceptionally tall lady at 5'7". The wood on the bathroom vanity was worn and the bedding looks like it's from the 70's IMO. Maybe we just had a bad room. We were at the very end of the hall overlooking Goofy's Kitchen and were told we got the last room in this particular tower. I guess I just had built it up in my head that the room was going to be fabulous.
Love Love Love the fact that we were right there and never had to fold up the stroller the entire stay. I guess if you're looking for a nice fancy room, DL hotel isn't the place to stay, but if it's convenience, nice grounds, and just being at Disney it's worth it. I would stay there again just for the convenience factor but only paying the AP rate. At least this time I know what to expect so I won't be disappointed. I would, however, stay at PP first if available.
