what is scarier the sunwheel or TOT

The TOT is much scarier for me! I'll ride the swinging gondolas on the SunWheel anyday, but I really have to work up my nerve to ride the TOT, and so far, I've only done it once.

Apparently I'm in the minority on this.

I loved the sunwheel, the non-swining cars that is. I am too much of a chicken to go on ToT....maybe if I had a few drinks first or valium?

I just think that the swinging Gondolas(is that what they're called?) are going to break and fall! If I go , I will be with sister and DAD. There will be a lot more weight in one side. Do you think that will cause something? Maybe My sister and I in one side and My dad on the other and some or our bags there and purses to even out the weight. lol Maybe put my foot there..lol

Do you think it will swing too much and break?

This thread made me laugh out loud and I had to call my DH and read some of the previous posts to him.

On our 1st trip to DL and DCA way back in 2001 I got him to go on the Sunwheel in a swinging gondola despite his very pronounced fear of heights. We were paired with a dad and his two kids who appeared to be between the ages of 4 and 7.

To this day I am honestly not sure who was more scared--the 4 year old boy or my DH who was 23 at the time! We have since been to DCA probably 20 times and I have never once dared to even joke about going on the ride again.

So, in his words, I would cast the following vote: The Sunwheel, a thousand times the sunwheel!

I've only been to DL once and didn't do the Sunwheel because DH was a chicken. I know he hasn't grown a backbone since then but all this talk about how "scary" the swinging gondolas are makes me determined to try them this trip! Will I feel funny going alone? I'm a bit "pooh" sized and was wondering if there is any kind of restraint that I need to be worried about? The scarier the better, I always say!!

Never, ever in this lifetime will you see me riding on the sunwheel (stationary or moveable)! I hate heights and ALMOST one time went for the non-mobile cars until I watched how high they really went up in the circle....TOT I'll do anyday!! Love that ride!! And like someone else mentioned I too believe the one at WDW is 'smoother' than the one at DL.

Another ride I'll NEVER do again (and I know I'm in the minority here) is Soarin! What was I thinking??? I thought it was an Imax movie screen and about had a massive heart attack when the seats left the floor!!! Of course those in my party thought it was hilarious to see me blubbering when I got off the ride but I failed to see the humor in the whole thing.

I think that the swinging gondolas are far more scarier than TOT...the TOT is a thrill ride and is a exciting scary where the Sunwheel is pure scary and no fun at all...my advice do not ride the Sunwheel...

There are no restraints in the sun wheel. That's probably partially what adds to the scariness of it. I rode it by myself, well with a man and his two kids, but my DH wouldn't ride it either! I want to do it again, but not by myself

SWINGING GONDOLAS!!!!!!

My DS5 at the time talked DD 2.5 at that time and I into riding it..

DD never screams... Neither do I. We almost pooped our chonies!!!!!

I love love love both!! I thought TOT would do me in with fear but I love the hang time!!

Sun Wheel is soooooo Fun!! My Mother and I would go on the Farris Wheel together and when we got to the tip top we would gently rock our car. It was more from trying to see the whole world than wanting to rock. The Sun Wheel is the ultimate swinging farris wheel car for me.

But the best way to ride, make your own restraint, is to put your foot against the opposite seat, then watch the bars to see when your car will slide. It will make it less scary. Do it in the bright morning.

Leave Night Time riding to the Sun Wheel pro's!!!

I am such a chicken, but I love Soarin! I would NEVER do TOT..SM, Screamin...hate Splash and BTTM..it's nice to see there is one ride I love that others are a bit scred of..also..some don't like Indy?? How can you not like Indy??
