what is scarier the sunwheel or TOT

The swinging things are the worst. I will go on any other ride in either park, but I refuse to go on those.

I will try any ride once at any and every theme park I've been to. I've never not wanted to go on a ride again UNTIL I went on those stupid swinging gondolas on the Sun Wheel. OMG It's been 2 yrs and I'll never forget the feeling of pure terror/fear.
Of course my kids (4 & 6 at that time) loved it and thought it was just hilarious that I was near tears!

I don't really understand the fear people have of the sunwheel. It is so docile, it was designed for relaxation and viewing the resort, not to scare you! Even the swinging cars are so mellow, there is nothing to fear but fear itself.

I guess if you are afraid of heights you would avoid both but you are missing out!

MGMs TOT is one of my favs, luv to ride it in succession; i'm afraid of heights & claustraphobic it just doesn't bother me...

so, other than the extreme height, what's scary about the "fixed" cars? Do they still wobble terribly?

I thought I was a weirdo for HATING the Sun Wheel!!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one!!

I went for the first time with my two girlfriends and our three 4 yr olds and I was horrified And we were in the non-swinging ones. My bestest friend talked to me the whole ride while I white-knuckled it . My other friend didn't understand at all and kept trying to talk about it and laugh at me The kids were fine of course!

I dunno. I've had a fear of heights since my pregnancy. I thought non-swinging would be ok. But I guess not!

I am terrified of the Sun Wheel (even the stationary carts on it)...so my vote is the Sun Wheel is scarier!

TOT is my favorite ride and not scary at all.

I'm willing to give the stationary gondolas a try next time but I'll never ride the swinging ones again. I love the ToT!

This is sooo great....I would not go on the sun wheel when we were there. I took one look at it and was like no way...Hubbie said the same thing...our friends took the 4 and 6 year olds on the sun wheel and hubbie and I took the 8 year olds on screamin....I'd do TOT alllll day long over and over.....I love roller coasters like crazy, but something about it made me not even want to try it...

Funny because we got off screamin and watched the sunwheel from across the river/lake thingie. Then we called other group and they were on it and explained which SWINGING gondola they were on....with the little kids.....The kids LOVED it!!!

This sounds just like me. Except I was with my SIL, my DD2, nephew 3, and niece 5. I started out with DD on my lap, but halfway up the first time my SIL had to take DD because I was white-knuckled holding on to the seat. My Dh, brother, and mom were waiting in line for the swinging ones and watched as I came around and around, more and more horrified. I still get scared just thinking about that stupid thing.

Well in the past I would say ToT was the scariest but nope, it's one of my faves!!

The Sun Wheel....I will ONLY go in the stationary cars, never will I go in the moving ones....And the whole time I'm in the stationary ones I'm white knuckled too. Everyone laughs at me but I have a severe fear of how high up you are in that thing....very severe!

Definately the sun wheel. I got on that thing and literally held on for my life. You wont catch me near that thing with a 250 foot pole.

I will ride every ride at DL and any other amusement park I have been too. I am a thrill seeker ... the higher and faster the better, BUT I'll agree wtih most everyone else the Sun Wheel!! I went on the swinging gondolas, by myself DH wouldn't go with me. He hates heights, but will do the TOT with me. He told me I was on my own. I was in the car with a mand and his two kids. I didn't freak out, but it was the scariest ride I have been on! While I was waiting in line, DH did win a little pink monkey at the carnival games for me to take with me.

However with that said, as crazy as it sounds, I want to ride it again. I know I am ! I will be again I am sure. However, I don't want to go on it by myself and DH will NEVER EVER go in it. So I am waiting until I can find someone I know to go on it with ... I may end up going on it by myself again ...

i just really want to try TOT at DCA - BUT I AM TERRIFIED of it.

been on it twice at MGM and hated it!

I like the ToT at WDW better than at DCA for the whole experience but for some reason the one at DCA seems smoother and I get less sick on it.

We did the non swinging gondola and I will never forget my little guys look of terror , I felt so guilty and acted like I was not scared , I did not even want to let go to wave to much smarter older son and hubby! When it was finally almost over , the guys in the swinging gondola in front of us puked! I was so glad to finally get off , I will never do it again, I don't even want to look at it when we pass by.

The moving cas are scary! The not moving ones I'm fine with.

I loved the sunwheel, the non-swining cars that is. I am too much of a chicken to go on ToT....maybe if I had a few drinks first or valium?
