We have never been to WDW in October but may be able to pull off a trip this October 19-24. Any suggestions? Warnings (i.e. cheerleaders, etc.)?

ANY and ALL advice would be greatly appreciated!

THANKS!!!!!

Weather is perfect! If you go make sure you get tickets to the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at the MK. It's great whether you have kids or not!

You also will have the food & wine festival going on at Epcot which is my favorite!! The crowds really don't get affected too much by that. It was a little busy last year than 2003, but I think that was due to postponed vacations from the hurricane, still the crowds really weren't large at all. Haven't ever seen any large touring groups during this time. Perhaps they were all well behaved so I didn't notice!

That's what I heard last year also about October being a little busier due to the Hurricanes.

October is perfect, and your proposed dates are great. The only "bad" time is Columbus Day Weekend, which is the week prior to your visit, so the crowds won't be too bad. The next "busy" weekend won't be until around the 11th of November (Super Soap, Festival of the Masters, last weekend of F&W Fest), so things will be relatively quiet.

Expect the parks Friday night and all day Saturday to be saturated with locals. Sunday morning is generally dead, but around noon people start to show up. The weekdays will be noticeably less busy.

Of course, some cataclysmic event could occur between now and then that would make October the busiest month of the year. But I doubt it.

We went October 18-25 in 2003 and it was great. Not crowded and nice weather. We planned to go this October, and our DU travel agent did tell us that at that time last year, the parks were pretty crowded.

October is our favorite time to go--I totally agree that the weather is PERFECT, the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot is a blast, and the crowds aren't bad at all. :flower:

I agree - GREAT weather, LOW crowd level, LOTS of fun things going on. You have to do MNSSHP and LTT for dinner before. Really sets the mood. It is still warm enough for swimming, too. (in the heated pools)

Have a GREAT time, I am soooo jealous!
