What is it with pink shirts?

I am a 41yo straight guy who enjoys wearing a pink shirt that I recently bought. I like my pink shirt. It is comfy; it goes nice with my jeans; and it is easy to iron. I wore it to the elementary school a couple of weeks ago when I ate lunch with DS and his kindergarden class. Some of the kids said I was wearing a "girl's shirt" . Then today at the grocery store a guy complemented me on my shirt; I think he even might have even been flirting a bit.

Please don't over-analyze me. I am secure in who I am. But what is the world coming to? Am I sending out some kind of code that an old guy like me would be oblivious to? I thought by now we were past all this business of equating color with certain messages.

thats what I was gonna say!

pink looks good on a lot of people. one of my friends (hes straight) the only dress shirts he owns are either pink, black or white. and it looks good on him.

wear what you want. be it pink or not.

A college campus organization that I'm affiliated with sold t-shirts last summer. We had a couple of color choices, chocolate brown with tan writing and light pink with dark pink writing.

We bought most of the pink in smaller sizes assuming that mostly women/girls would purchase them. BIG MISTAKE! We sold over half those pink shirts to guys and there was a large damand for the larger sizes.

Lots of men wear pink shirts and it is no indication of their sexual orientation. At least not where I live. I don't wear pink because it is not a good color for me.

Yup, saw this shirt on a kid yesterday at a restaurant in Oklahoma when we stopped to eat.

As far as Kindergarten and the younger kids, well they are big into identity roles, so I would not take it personal.

Little kids..well my friends and I who have boys have found that in our experienec, little boys who only have brothers(or who are only children) are fine when Mom buys them a pink shirt to wear.
Little boys like mine who have a sister think pink is just for girls because all they have seen is their sister dolled up in pink all the time.
My son will NOT wear pink, I have tried. lol

So agree... and pink is considered a "power" color. SSB has long sleeved pink polo, as well as pink dress shirt. Hey, if Kanye West can wear pink polos, must be fine!

Every Wednesday the boys in my 5th grade son's class wore pink shirts (they wore them other days too but everyone wore them on Wed!) He begged me to buy him one and now has several. He tells me pink is the new black. His favorite pink shirt is a tshirt that says "My black shirt is in the wash".
