when you visit the regular parks what do you take?
do any experienced disers have something absolutely essential to them that I wouldn't have thought of?
I have 2 DD's of 4y and 19mo so I guess we need nappies, wipes etc, sunscreens, change of clothes, smimming costume, maybe a small towel, cardigans for evening, healthy
snaks for them and a bottle of water to refill at fountains. I tend to take some hand sanitiser gel for before meals etc as hand washing isn't always convenient and its a habit my girls are in and the eldest constantly reminds be if she hasn't done it (think I've started a minor OCD)! as well as camera, sunhats and glasses.....what else??

Plastic bag to protect valuables/camera if going on water rides or caught in downpour. Sometimes water can get into bags depending on the type of bag you have.

I like to take a spare pair of socks, its amazing how nice it feels to change them when your feet are hot and sweaty, or wet from a ride.

We discovered, last year, good quality walking sandals. These are just as comfortable as trainers but your feet don't get hot and on water rides the water just runs out from them. We didn't bother with socks. I would definitely recommend a pair.

We take pretty much what you have listed but one first day I seem to take more and then day two something less, then less then the bag seems to filled up with park maps, that DH has picked up even though we know the way round with our eyes closed!
Anythign glossy and shining in the form of leaflets and DH has the,! LOL :rotfl:

Plastic bag for camera protection from down pour of rides definately a good idea.

I think you have everything covered, must admit we are always fully loaded when we are at the parks too.

One thing, don't forget your tickets!

I always make sure I've got pain relief (tabs for adults, sachets for children) with me, as a kind of insurance policy (well, I seemed to get headaches more when I didn't have them!!).
Spare batteries and film/card for camera? Pen and autograph book?
Have to agree about the hand washing thing - I've even got DH refusing to eat until he uses a wipe, so I now call him Mr Monk:rotfl:

Pen and paper are also handy to write down where you are parked. After a day in the park it is sometimes easy to forget.

i saw a great tip about taking a piccie of where you have parked on your digital camera :) fab idea

pretty much everything apart from the kitchen sink.

my bag is like the black whole.

camera, film (yes i don't want to convert to digital just yet) sunscreen, face wipes, tissue, money, park maps.

it looks like i drag a mini suitcase around with me.:lmao:

I take,
Credit card, driving license, mini fan if it is hot, Hand wipes, sunglasses. Headache tablets, packet of mints??? Tickets, bottle of water and that is about it.

This is a very good point... I have had my one and only full-blown proper migraine at SeaWorld Orlando a few years ago. I think that I basically screamed my way around the big scarey roller-coaster there and had a serious over-load :sad2: . Basically my head felt as though it was exploding and I could barely open my eyes (extreme light sensitivity). I had no pain killers on me and we couldn't find any at the park (although I wasn't in the best condition to try and find any...). Had to leave the park, go back to the hotel and lie down in a darkened room for a few hours.

That was very freaky (had nothing like it before and, fortunately, nothing quite like it since...). Probably explains why I tend to avoid most roller-coasters and thrill rides now...

Boo

I usually pack a few zip loc bags and a couple of those little plastic pegs for sealing packets. Any snacks or bits of lunch DD might want later on can be stored in the bag. Often she will not finish a meal but want to revisit it later. Obviously we don't keep stuff like chicken under the pram for ages but crisps, a cookie or a bagel or something will keep for a little while. We take little pots of Cheerios or Goldfish crackers for quick snacks.

Don't know if someone mentioned this earlier, but we often take a frozen bottle of water each with us in the morning. As the day goes on it defrosts and it is lovely and cold.

Mandy :)

I take next to nothing really! Small purse with tickets, room key and a bit of cash in it. Camera and thats pretty much it!

Snap, Im just like that.:goodvibes

I take as little as possible, but I understand with little children with you, then its a different story, I think you have most things covered.:thumbsup2

Likewise mrsminniemouse, we too take frozen bottles of water with us, as I never find the water from the fountains in the park that nice. We make sure we always have tissues!, our eldest DD needs a tissue on most days poor love!, think this has something to do with all her allergies. Also make sure we have a bag of fruity sweets like starburst :cutie: , they're sooo refreshing.

same here, I take camera, spare batteries, tickets, purse, keys, park maps, suncream and that is it, all fits in my normal bag that I use at home, I like to be comfortable and carrying a big bag around is just annoying.
