What is hot for teens this Christmas?

I got mine for ~$70 on eBay, and I've had it for 3 years... I will never go back to a cheap flat iron again! My ends were constantly fried and they were ALWAYS breaking on me. My skin and hair are two things I will not compromise on. :confused3

www.beautychoice.com has email coupons for CHI and GHD flatirons frequently. :thumbsup2

So you are saying it is worth the investment. I will have to follow them on e-bay, hopefully, I can find the deal you did. :thumbsup2

A great flat iron makes all the difference and is totally worth the investment. If you have a JC Penney's salon in your area check there because they often have them on sale or at least coupons that can be applied.

The following store has a good selection of Chi and Babyliss flat irons and there are usually some discount codes floating around the net.

Where do you get the Chi? How much are they?

I waited for a 20% off coupon from Ulta and applied it to the sale price, so it was $79.00 rather than the $119 regular retail.

How is the CHI that much different than other flatirons? I have to flat iron my hair all the time and wouldn't mind spending the money if I knew what the biggest differences were.
Thanx

I got my DS (13) a new comforter set and a throw for her room at Bed Bath and Beyond. It was 25% off and I had a $10.00 coupon. YAY!:cool1:

I find that the CHI does less damage to my hair (less split ends). The plates get hot enough that it makes it very smooth and shiny, but doesn't take a ton of time. On the time note, I also don't have to hold the iron on my hair too long, which also helps reduce damage.

My hair will stay straight for days after I flat iron it with my CHI... with the conair iron I used in high school, I was lucky to make it until dinner.

It also takes only a minute or two to heat up, which is just a time saving convenience but helpful. It only takes me 3 or 4 minutes compared to the 10 it took me wiht my old one, but I have shoulder-length slightly wavy hair -- it took a little longer when my hair was longer. My best friend has mid-back-length, CURLY hair and her straightening time went from an hour to ~20 minutes. :thumbsup2

HTH!

I haven't read through all of the responses, so I'm sorry if this is a repeat. North Face Jackets are big here and also mini netbooks and Toms.
Talk to me about Toms . . . one of my daughters wants a pair, but I've heard that they don't hold up well. And I know that they're certainly not cheap.

Also, do they run true to size?

Thanks.

My DD has two pair and will be getting one or two more for Christmas. They do run true to size and they do not hold up well for such a pricey shoe.

DD bought a canvas pair this Summer and then wore them almost every day for 4 weeks of sleep away camp. It was a dance camp though so she would hae actually only wore them a few hours a day. By the time she got home and I saw them, they had frayed spots on the heels next to the soles. I bought her the Burlap pair for back to school. She's worn them less often (maybe once or twice a week) and they still look brand new. I think the burlap is sturdier.

Her grandmother has already bought her a cord pair for Christmas.
