What is HH like in March?

We just booked 2 nights at HH in March (on our way to WDW where we have 3 nights booked for BCV).

Just wondering, what can I expect in March? Will the kids be able to use the pool? Will there be kids activities going on (since this is spring break time)?

They only had 2 bedrooms left for that time, so I guess we get to see what one looks like!

If we get there around noon, can we walk around the place? And can the kids use the pool while we wait to check into our rooms (I hate having to wait until 4:00 p.m.).

This will be our first DVC trip. So even though it is 5 months away, we are anxious to see how it goes. Any advice on what to expect at HH would be welcomed. We know what we are doing at WDW for those three days (the parks!!!!)

I'm anxious to hear replies too. We're checking in March 9, never been there.

I am anxious to hear from someone also. I am checking in March 16th, and I have only been in the summer, so any tips are appreciated. Are the restaurants across the bridge open at that time of year, or is it too cold still for the outdoor cafes?

HH is a very nice resort, if the weather is nice. If it rains, then you don't have much to do. We just got back from HHI and it rained every day. There wasn't very much to do. The pool was cold, and many of the activites were cancled. I hope this helps.

March is a great time to visit HH. There will be lots of activity all over th eisland, as it is a popular Spring Break family vacation spot.

The resort activities will be in full swing with the possible exception of the beach house restaurant (I suspect it will be open though).

Temperartures can range from highs in the mid 60's to low 80's at that time. The ocean will be too cool for swimming, but the beach is beautiful and still offers a great relaxing stroll.

The pools are heated and will be refreshing. If your room is not yet ready when you check-in, you will be able to use all of the resort facilities when you arrive.

We've been to HH during March many times and have loved every trip!

Enjoy!

I don't think I've ever been to HH in March, but I have been there at other times of the year -- when the weather is good and when it's not so good. I have never been disappointed there!

Yes, you can check-in at 12:00; if your room is not ready, it will be just like at WDW. You'll get your keys and a phone number to call to find out your room number by 4:00. You can use the pool, or have access to the beach house until you can get into your room.

If the weather is not nice, there are still lots of wonderful things to do there. Shopping (or just window shopping) is one that comes to mind. There are all kinds of neat little shops all over the island and the outlets are not that far away (maybe about 10 miles?) back towards the mainland. Shelter Cove Mall is right there, too.

I can't say for sure whether all the restaurants at Shelter Cove will be open in march, but certainly the larger ones will be. But don't be afraid to explore and try new places. There are very few restaurants at Hilton Head that we've been disappointed with. Be sure to pick up the restaurant guide that has all the menus (Disney usually gives you one when you check in) and find something that looks good to you.

If the weather is too cold for swimming, you can always try a day trip to Charleston or Savannah. Both are charming cities and offer tours. (I've never done them, because once my feet hit Hilton Head, I don't leave the island until I absolutely HAVE to!!)

Hope this helps.
