What is going on with the FP+ crackdown?

This is where it would just be easier all the way around if they'd just make the FP invalid if a band hadn't entered the park. Blue mickey, you can't ride. No locking of accounts. Habitual abusers you can find a different way if it's really necessary. But if the FP are not valid, they'll stop trying to book them. No?

I don't think they CAN do that or it would have rolled out from the start...I think there is a limit to the tech. Why? I have no clue but that's what it seems to be.

Are you referring to me, Rox?

...cause I have done just what you are referring to: putting the credit card away and vacationing in other places.

...it's not that tough.

I haven't sworn to burn all things disney...but rejecting DCL, no passes, carrying full banks of DVC points (never...ever...done before)...

They are losing bigtime on me as compared to the "how magical is POR" crowd?

Based on my expenditures at a young age...there is no "next man up". That's the bottomline there.

Actually, no. I read a comment where you said you decided to take a step away for a while. There's a lot more people on this board that say throw out the negative quips and in the next breath whip out the credit card. I'm still enjoying my time there but I didn't spend the last 10-15 years vacationing in Orlando. But I do know nothing's perfect, things get boring. I'm sure I'll feel the same way, hopefully I can listen to my own advice. People don't just get tired of the same old thing and get tired of seeing nothing improve or change.

It's actually turning into a near 2 year break...and I honestly don't miss it.

It's liberating in a way. My kids (raised on crystal palace and cape may breakfasts)...don't say a peep either. Though they will be happy to go back when the time comes.

The return on dollars spent is just eye opening...when you take the blinders off.

The Jersey week trip on RCL has had the price slashed twice since booking...How much "magic" does $2,500 buy over 7 days in LBV?

Yeah it's pretty liberating. All of this reminds me of how people would act about World of Warcraft. Yes, much lower stakes, but the same mentality and failings. Not enough new content, too many hoops to jump through, constant changes that ruin one person's fun for the benefit of something you don't care about. You just can't think of all the money/time wasted. Times were good but they'll never be what they were, they are what they are now.

And as an aside, I've cruised a few times on Royal Caribbean, and I like it, even if my future in laws will criticize the trip the whole time.

I don't know. Blue Mickey's just cause people to argue with CM's, which causes holds ups at FP entry points. Most of the time the complaining guests get through anyways.

Good reference...

And dump the inlaws if you have to. I think there's a way to legally divorce them.

Space Mountain didn't open until early 1975. Country Bears was an original at opening in Oct 1971. But regardless, original E tickets also included Hall of Presidents. You have to remember just how novel the audio animatronics were. They fascinated people who had never seen a robot and only really read about them in science fiction or seen giant clunky ones in factories. The precision and synchronization was completely novel. Lots of people preferred Space Mountain when it opened, but they didn't prefer the Tea Party or the Shooting Gallery to seeing these amazing AAs.

Hall of presidents also had some nice cold AC. I know we went in it on my one and only trip as a kid in order to sit down and get out of the sun. Half our party took a nice long nap.

I'm ticked off at anyone who knowingly doesn't have a legit fp and argues their way in. Mostly because I'm behind them being held up. Move to the side and plead ignorance. I'm not patient.
Time is money. Especially at DW. Waiting even just two extra minutes to get on a ride can make a difference.

Admit it - anything short of these folks being burned at the stake would leave you feeling like they got off easy. :lmao:
LOL. Actually it's not as much about "punishment" as it is about preventing the behavior. If there are no repercussions they will just keep trying. Why do you think they keep asking if they will actually get locked out of their accounts and be denied future FPs. It's not just curiosity.

It's not for anyone asking. :rolleyes1

I don't know ... showing a "blue mickey" for MBs that have not been scanned in the parks gate seems a lot easier than locking people's MDX accounts.

I've seen plenty of people turned away with a "blue mickey". Most of them are people who just try to jump in the FP lane. I was turned away one when I arrived too late for my FP timeframe.

I think the issue is those that try to argue their way in... it's time consuming.

I've also seen plenty of people turned away, but I've seen plenty more go through. Regardless of the issue, fp lines can really get bunged up by blue Mickey's.

Sometimes the blue is for valid reasons like DAS, sometimes folks are just confused about their return time, maybe in their mind switching it with another so I think blue is important .... how about in these cases where there is a violation or for folks who have no FP+ at all for the particular ride all day, just trying to bully in, it turns RED. That helps the CM because they will automatically know that this person is not to talk their way in, no discussion, send them to GR and let them address whatever issue it is .......... if there is an issue. Takes pressure off the line and CM, particularly the DCP front line who can be less firm. For those trying to sneak in, they will likely just move on to the next ride.

Didn't MK add a Ticket Office in Liberty Square? Maybe they need to add a GR deep in parks so folks who have issues have somewhere during the day that doesn't involve a hike to front.
