What is going on with the FP+ crackdown?

Implementing a new system is different than locking guest accounts. I hope if Disney did in fact put in a new system (still unconfirmed) they did it the right way this time. Locking guest accounts is lazy.
It's the update to the system, warning to the guest at first (maybe second?) attempt, and then a lockout. I think the warning at the first attempt is enough to warn someone it shouldn't be attempted again.

I know. But I wonder if every single guest that goes to Disney knows that you can only change between ticketed parties that have entered the park. Are there some out there that think you can change between some who stay back at the resort from exhaustion one day? The unsuspecting guest that gets caught up using a feature that is on the site but not trying to scam extra FP? Anyway, just like those that try to get extra FP is a small number, I'm sure those that accidentally break the rules are too. I just hope they don't get too irate with the CM that have to deal with them when their accounts are locked
I'm sure the learning curve won't be fun the first few weeks. For anyone.

I don't know if it was bad PR. Only people on places like the disboards knew about it. General guests have no idea.

It was bad PR to the majority of people on the various Disney boards, this site was one of the last hold outs. Maybe it wasn't bad PR to the masses YET...but when more and more people were talking about it Disney was wise to enforce its own rules.

Disney boards are a small amount of the people in the parks on a daily basis. I just don't see how the bad PR could have been large enough for that to have been the reason.

Where do you see anyone wishing ill will on anyone that abused the system in the past?

I haven't seen that. The discussions have been about those still trying or upset they can't anymore.

I personally hope the ones that continue to abuse and cheat the system since the change are penalized. I don't think just deleting the FPs is enough. There has to be some kind of penalty for it otherwise they will keep trying.

They SHOULD be scared to attempt to circumvent the system.
:teeth: I see a whole new theme for Club Villain bwah haha.........

I don't know. I'm not sure scared and Disney and guest should ever be used together. But that's just me. I can't imagine Disney wants their guests scared.

I don't doubt it. I think we do eventually see some sort of paid Fastpass.
Like Universal? I don't know. The number of guests at DW is astronomical compared to Universal. I'm not sure how that would work. Sounds scary, not just expensive.

No not like express pass necessarily. I think they could very well have a paid option for extra Fps or something like that. They already know people will pay for rides. Look at the early morning magic event or the new Frozen dessert party they are about to start.

Yea but we become the general masses go to people when planning a Disney vaca. Us being in the know gives us a big voice.

With all the hyperbole going around based on the one article passed around and referenced on all fan sites, I believe this is the first time a warning has been mentioned. Is this a warning via MDE or are we to rely on the CM to issue the warning at the FP tap?

@DisneyMom93, do you think everyone who has used it in the past is watching this thread with the same fervor that you are? My money is on no. And so I think the split between those who have used it in the past (innocently or not?) and those using it "since the change" (which wasn't really a change in TOS, only a change in Disney's enforcement) is a blurred line.

A lot of people who used this cheat before had convinced themselves it wasn't wrong. They read the TOS as they saw fit and with no real punishment they thought it was OK. Now there is a punishment for the crime so yes I think (hope) they are.

And I can say the same but I have never seen any sort of FP loophole discussed outside of the disboards. I just don't think its a PR issue. I feel if it was it would have been taken care of sooner.
I discussed it.
