What is going on with the FP+ crackdown?

LOL is looking at NET after opening day, not net from when Orlando had 0. So if you had 9 on opening day, you opened 15, closed 11, you have a total of 13, but the NET after opening is only 4. It just depends on whether you are starting from base case 0, or starting from base case of what was in each park at opening.

Yes...but I'm actually looking at net since the end of the expansion era in 1997-1999...when the last "new" guest areas and largescale hotel expansion ended...

That's the benchmark...they started closing things since and have "tinkered" more than added.

I agree with you. That's why I get upset that the cheaters ruin it for others.

You said if you had a resort reservation... So then of course you have the other "strategy" of having a cheap "resort reservation" to obtain 30-60 day advance FPs (Disney is definitely aware of it). And you have those that would gladly pay for APs (even though they will only be going for two weeks a year) so they can get those (now invalid) extra FPs every day of their visit. Eventually all the things the honest guests have access to will be limited due to those that take advantage of it.

I do think though that limiting the FPs on APs makes it more fair to those that can only go once a year, or every few years as opposed to those that can go once a month and ride the Tier1 rides often. It does suck though if you just needed that one extra day for your visit. Sorry.
Agreed! It's those that bend the rules and make it harder for us rule abiding folk in the long run. Like how for the life of me I can never get the refillable mug drink sensors to work right for me! LOL

I agree with limiting for AP's, but my pass costs money, and if I'm shelling out money to stay on property I should be able get the the FP's that I want. But I do agree for those that are day guests and go like all the time. Or if I was to stay off site, for example. It ended up not inconviencing me at all this time around, so I'm definitely staying positive! If it impacts me later down the road I'll probably just call Disney and explain that I have a long trip planned, I'm sure they'd be able to help me out :)

Oh, and i did notice a much larger availability this past weekend when it comes to booking the 4th FP later in the day. Right on!

Reading about a report of an MDE getting locked out by someone trying to use unauthorized FP+. Don't know all the details yet but this may be the first report of someone using one of the 'other' hacks and getting nailed for it.

Reading where?

Forgive my ignorance, but how does one roll it? I thought 4 was maximum.

After you use your pre-selected FP's for the day (whether it was one, two, or three), you can select another. After you use that, you can select another. And so on.

The number "four" is commonly used to describe the additional FP since most people make three ahead of time and then the additional FP is usually their fourth of the day, but there is no strict minimum or maximum # of FP's that you can make/use in a day,.

I feel so foolish for not knowing that! Wow. Geez louise.

Thanks!!

After you use your first 3, and I mean the second you scan your MB to enter the ride, open the app on your phone and pick a 4th. You can only hold one at a time but you can keep getting new ones after you use the 4th. So each time we enter a line we pick up the next one for the earliest time. If you only see one for hours later, take it because you can often go in and modify times earlier. But we literally get one while in line for a time frame that usually we can walk right to the next ride.

Obviously MK has the most rides so likely we are able to roll the most there but we rarely get in SB lines unless we see they are really short. If we pass a ride we have a FP+ for with a short line, we jump in SB and modify our FP+ for another ride while we are in line.

It never even dawned on me to try after the 4th! Thank you!

It's length of stay for an onsite reservation with an AP. We stay an average of 2 weeks so it's great to book all days @ 60 days out. There may be a limit of 7 or 10 days for the booking @ 60 days; but the days over that were rolling 60 days out.

With ONLY an AP, your onsite stay of 7 or more days
NOW prohibits you from making ANY days of FPs @ 30 days for an offsite stay.

YET if you have additional multi-tickets linked, you are allowed to book up to the 7 days.

Otherwise, you need to wait until you use one or more days of your onsite FPs until you have 6 or fewer days of FPs remaining,
then you may book the 1 or more days of offsite FP for a total of 7 days including the onsite days.

So you lose the 30-day booking privilege of multi/ticket users, with only being able to book @ 1-day ahead,
instead of the 30.
This places AP holders @ a disadvantage.
I am confused. This is our first year of having APs. We have onsite trips planned for July, November, and December. Will I be able to book fps for all trips at 60 days?

We have 3 on-site trips in July. We booked all FPs 60 days with our APs. For the 2nd and 3rd stays, we booked 60 days from the 2nd, because they are split stays.

They are already enforcing the same day FP rule. You now HAVE to have the FPs associated with a ticket used for entry for it to work. Disney is currently working on the 30-60 day CP "strategy." It is definitely against ToS that's why that strategy can't be discussed here. So those still using it KNOW it's against ToS and are still doing it.

Since it's already known it is against ToS I don't think there will be any "warning" when the update is going to be in place.

Hope I can say this. It would be awesome if CP attempts resulted in immediate activation of "media" or cancellation.

About time they dealt with this.
