What is going on with June hours?!

First of all your overreacting about the hours and if it is of value to us if they are shortened. This is not what the problem is. This is about being concerned to know what the hours will be so we can make our plans before we go. We are not going crazy because we cant control the hours. Most of your post are assumptions that Disney will shorten the hours and we need to just deal with it. This is not what most of us think, we think they are going to extend the hours but are announcing it later then usual. They have extended them for years and years. If they don't extend the hours we will still go! Your going crazy trying to convince us we are going crazy over the hours. We are not, we just need info to plan.

That may be the case with you, I don't think it is the case with everybody in the thread. Most of the comments in the thread have been about Disney taking something away that they had previously offered. I don't think planning has as much to do with it as an overall reaction to a perceived loss of the hours.

While I'm not sure I wrote to you personally, I'm sorry if I did and made mis assumptions about your complaints.

And all these people saying DAH is unreasonable because they could get the same thing free with EMH, consider yourselves lucky. My experience with EMH was that they were packed until the 2 am closing. And that was in late May/early June

Nope, we have been almost every late May/early June since 2009 and ALWAYS do EMH at MK. Now, your definition of "packed" might be different than mine but anytime we can ride teacups, Dumbo or Buzz multiple times without even getting off the ride, to me that is not a packed park. Crowds hurry out after wishes and they continue to thin out until the last hour when you can pretty much ride whatever you want without a wait (except maybe 7DMT and, to a lesser extent, Pan). We hit more rides between 1-2am than we are able to do all day long.

There's no mystery to the reduced hours. It's the result of the recent cheap, stingy cutbacks they're imposing on the parks. Hey, someone has to pay for their business blunders (e.g. Shanghai), and it sure won't be the suits who made the decisions, that's for damn sure.

If you have a trip coming up, complain to the company. Let them hear about it. If you're reducing your number of park days, tell them that. If you're pissed, tell them! Right now, they think they can get away with any crap, just to save a few bucks.

As I said in another thread, Mickey Mouse is not the right mascot for the WDC anymore. Scrooge McDuck would be more appropriate; sitting on a huge mountain of gold while pinching pennies.

Not saying it's necessarily the case here, but it would not surprise me if Disney has 'dedicated' posters on these boards to defend the company in controversial positions. It would help explain some of the bizarre 'Disney can do no wrong' opinions that are expressed here.
I was just thinking that while reading through some of this. Why would some people defend Disney so furiously? Why would people jump on others for stating their opinions? I was wondering for a second if there aren't a few unknown agendas involved in this.

But silly conspiracy theories aside a pet peeve of mine is others correcting adults on these forums. The truth is that Disney has historically stayed open later during the summer and if they choose not to do so that is their right of course but it is different. If people don't like not knowing then why is it so bad that they say so?

Just DAH.

And that was in response to the guy who said he'd just walk slowly, which, while he was joking, summed up an attitude I thought had become prevelant on the board, that WDW was taking something away by not extending hours. Some have agreed, others have chastised me for it, but feel free to jump in.
Disney has historically stayed open later hours during the summer. This is excluding EMH. So if the adhere to the 10:00 pm closing they are technically taking hours away, not giving free hours to stay open past 10:00 pm. I love Disney, but they give nothing away for free.
