What is going on in Mid October?

Holy smokes! We decided to take a trip in mid October and availability seems like a holiday. We purposely avoided Columbus day week as we expected a lot of folks would take advantage but, the following week is completely sold out at Swan and Dolphin and there is little to no availability at the Disney resorts. Has F&W gotten that crazy? I realize that there is not really a slow time anymore but, this seems crazy.

October has become a very busy month. I also think that they keep rooms back for booking for when they release deals. Their reservation system is really messed up. Keep checking and even call because sometimes they can see rooms that are not online.

The Gartner IT convention is October 18 - 22 and usually brings in over 10,000 people. Last year they even had an evening buyout of the Magic Kingdom. They are promoting "Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo™ takes place at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn" on their website.

Thanks Sherlee, that makes sense then. Perhaps they will stay at the conference instead of the parks. I guess Dinner ADRs will be a top priority.
