Looking at airfare next Nov. with AA and it is triple what we paid last year.:scared1: What is going on? Delta is a little cheaper but not much:sad2: And in the past three days it is steadily going up. I hope it doesn't get to be as much as my WDW trip!:scared:

My flight is through AIRTRAN and it is very reasonable ( I think it is my first flight :) ) It is $89 each way. Does that seem fair? Maybe it is because of thanksgiving???

When did you buy your airline tickets last year?

Check the fares a few days before and after your planned departure and return dates.

Some days of the week are more expensive than others. You could save a lot of money if you are able to adjust your schedule a little.

Good luck!

Need lots of more info here... when you are traveling, etc... If you are way out, then you have time to watch the flights. Generally, flights are up from last year across the board. You can get deals, but you have to be very diligent. I got $188 on AA to LAX from MSP, but I had to be VERY diligent to get that fare.... hit it at the right time.

If you're anywhere near an airport that has SWA, they offer pretty good fares ($89-99/ow). With SW it means you have to wait until their fares are released, plus there aren't assigned seats. Some people aren't comfortable with that.
We generally fly SWA because of their fares, their service, and their policy regarding giving credit if plans change.:thumbsup2

It seems like the nondiscount carriers have higher prices before the discount ones release their fares. So AA, USAir, etc will be high until jetblue, AT, and SW release those dates. There is nothing lower right now, so no reason for them to drop fares.

For our trip next month, I checked USAir. Before SW and Airtran released Feb, it was in the hundreds one way. AFterwards??? $59!!! But they lost me because of the layover. :)

Did that. It seemed this year that rates dropped the Tue. after Thanksgiving. We are planning on travelling Tue. Nov. 27 to Tue. Dec. 4.

We are travelling from DFW to MCO. I know SW is cheaper and their rates are not released yet so I was trying to get a jump with AA since last year we booked Jan. 31 and got the $200 rate. Now they are saying $517!:scared1:

Another priority is nonstop. I guess I'll just keep waiting and watching:rolleyes:
