Is it just an arcade? Worth going to or not? I'm planning a low key day after we do Mickey's Halloween party so I thought Downtown Disney would be fun. Thanks!:goodvibes

It's more than an arcade. Yes, there are lots of games to play including all of the latest.

There's a 3-D Pirates of the Caribbean game. About 5 people can play at the same time. One person captains the boat and steers around the caribbean while everyone else shoots cannons at the other ships. My kid's love it.

There's a virtual reality jungle cruise where you get on a raft and ride it through a prehistoric jungle and dodge dinosaurs, volcanos and other items.

You can also design your own roller coaster and then get in and ride it. They are rated on a "scary" scale of 1-5. They will even go upside down. Two people at once can ride the virtual coaster.

There's also a place where they teach you how to draw Disney characters.

There's virtual reality magic carpet rides.

There's a Buzz Lightyear ride where you are in bumper cars with cages around the cab. You pick up balls off the floor and shoot them at others for points.

I'm sure I've missed something. There used to be a game on the floor where you drove around remote control cars through a maze which had cameras on them. As the floor was glass you could have others in your party guide you around.

Overall, we found it a fun diversion for a few hours. We went there on a very rainy day and had a blast. However, we try to steer clear of it most of the time as we prefer to be out in the sun when on vacation.

Holy Cow, that sounds fun! We're huge fans of ESPN Zone so this would be right up our alley. The animation academy sounds cool, is it free? Thanks so much for all the information!:goodvibes

It is free (well included) if you have the water parks and more option on your tickets. Otherwise you pay a seperate admission price to get it.

Oh, what was I thinking? Of course there's a fee! It just sounds like a great way to spend a couple of low-key hours! Thanks!:goodvibes

It's 5 Floors of Awesomeness. I always make a point to go at least once per trip. If you go during the day it shouldn't be too crowded (Unless it's rainy).

It's the place where DS17 and DH2 get lost for hours on end and never grow tired of the place. They go to DQ while DD and I visit the parks.

It's a favorite of ours. We always go at least two or three times each trip. There is so much to do. I love the fact that there is so much creativity involved. THere's also the recording studio, the drawing characters and the scenes design stations.

It's also nice because sometimes I just sit and read a book while she plays lol My daughter is old enough now that I can drop her off there and go next door to see a grown up movie. WHich was a nice break for both of us on a two week trip.
