I read on the EBTA thread something about a "Who Dunnit" called Desperate Shipmates. They didn't give much detail, but sounds kinda fun. Could someone explain what's it all about? TIA

It's sort of like a murder mystery dinner, if you're familiar with those.

There are about 3 sessions during the cruise where participants meet in the WD theater and the actors discuss the situation, setting the scene, giving you a lot of clues about what/who is happening. Your job is to figure out who did the dasterdly deed by the last session when all is revealed.

It's fun....it's another activity commonly done on longer cruises.

Ohhh thanks...can't wait...we LOVED the murder mystery dinner on RCCL and wished DCL did it too. But this does sound like the mystery dinner just without the dinner and it gives you time to think it through. :thumbsup2 I will just pray it's on our 10nt. :woohoo:

Usually it is only done on longer cruises with a lot of sea days. The sessions are on sea days so they need 3 or 4 sea days to have the different sessions.

The downside to this is that they have been doing the same skit on the last Panama Canal and Transatlantic cruises but a different person is guilty. I haven't figured out if the clues can lead to any of the characters, how you can "solve" the problem. Seems like the answer is completely random to me.

There are no clues that definately point to the culprit, so you only get it right by luck. But it is fun and especially if you've gotten to know the entertainment staff during the cruise, it's fun to watch them do their characters. They stay in character and I had a fun chat with the "'captain's daughter" when I ran into her in the hall the second time I experienced this event.

OMG - One of my friends in the crew forwarded me a message that said that a new 'Desperate Shipmates' has been written for the 2010 Westbound Trans-Atlantic voyage. This is very exciting -New characters, a new plot, and new twists and turns!
