I know this sounds stupid, but everyone keeps talking about calling CRO as opposed to Walt Disney Travel Company to find out about discounted rates. What is it, and how do you get in touch with them?

CRO = Central Reservations Office

This is the original center at WDW to call for resort reservations. It has been in operations for many, many years.

Walt Disney Travel Company came along later and used to have a completely different phone number and different types of packages.

In the last two to three years, the company has been integrating the two reservation systems. Both actually use the same phone number at this time. So in calling the phone number, it could be answered by CRO or WDTC. Most agents are now trained in both systems. The rumor is that CRO will be completely phased out in the next year. But at this point, that is just a strong rumor.

CRO has a policy of one night's rate as deposit and full payment on arrival. It also has a five day cancellation policy.

WDTC has a $200.00 deposit and payment in full 45 days before arrival.
