There are many people that feel the concierge is worth it ....others disagree. IMHO love the concierge level, but then again I am the type of person that will pay for a butler to unpack my clothes!
Before your arrival you are called by the concierge plannner. They will discuss your WDW trip with you and make all p/s for you. They will even call the ones for you that need to be called 10 days, 45 days out for you so you do not have to watch the calender and get up early to make the calls. Tell them what you want and they do it for you. From what I have read here the p/s made thru concierge have a different status than a p/s that you would make for yourself, I don't know if it's true but I read it on these boards.
Upon arrival to the Resort, you are greeted by a smiling Concierge CM by name with a warm welcome and are taken to the concierge level for check in so there is no need to go to the lobby with your bags, to wait in line and check in - very nice. I can only comment about the GF RPC rooms which are in the main building in which you gain accesss to the floor by your card which is put into the slot on the elevator keyboard. I have found the rooms to be a bit larger and have more creature comforts. The breakfast offerings are wonderful...more than enough. Fruits, cereals, juices, water, coffee, teas, baked goods, muffins, bagels and toasters....lots of stuff and plenty of it, if you have a big appetite. There area is beautiful with a full view of the GF lobby and large windows which look over the MK. There are also televisions with Disney movies playing for the kids, and plenty of places to sit. You can also take your breakfast to your room if you wish. Between offerings there is always something out - cookies, brownies, bottles of water, and other things to drink. I have never stopped in at lunch time as we are always in the parks. We do however stop in late afternoon, grab a cookie and some water go back to the room and freshen up a bit then head back out. In the evening though, they serve lovely appetizers, and hot foods and a nice wine selection, no charge. I guess it depends on your appetite but I would not make a meal out of it since we always love to go out for dinner. I have a glass or two of wine and a few nibbles while getting ready for dinner. I have read here that some people make a meal of it, I personally would not, but I guess you could due to the amount and selection of food served. When you retrun from your dinner your will find a beautiful array of desserts and after dinner cordials. We find the added luxury worth it, but that is what we like. I think for the amount of planning service, added ammenities, and food offerings it is worth it for us. From staying both ways, I prefer the concierge level. We also find we spend less money when we stay concierge. It may seem like more money in the beginning but when you are done and add up all your receipts, we always come out ahead when we stay GF RPC.
The concierge staff is different when you are on the concierge level. There is a seperate desk on the 4th floor exclusively for concierge guests. They will do and cna get you anything you need. One year my sneakers were very uncomfortable and I needed a new pair. We did not want to waste time looking for sneakers so we went to the concierge desk, told the CM what I needed and a few hours later there was a new pair of Nike's in my room. Cant't beat that
