What is character palooza?

I've heard it mentioned a few times in posts. Is this real/place or just a term used?

Hi there! Characterpalooza is when various characters congregate in a certain section of DHS for approximately half an hour. Its more of a casual mingling rather than the lineups you see for some characters.

When we were there in may, we met approximately 12-15 characters in about 15 minutes..there were usually only 1-2 people waiting to get a pic with any given character. Alot of fun running from character to character

I was all ready to do it that day, but then forgot about it. We came up on it in the last few minutes so only got to take pictures with 2 characters. But it was still fun seeing all the characters.

Off the top of my head I think the characters that were there were
Mary Poppins, Pinocchio, Snow White, Aladdin and Jasmine, Minnie Mouse, Alice, and chip and dale.

But that was just who was there that day, I guess it changes all the time.

Can you get autographs from the characters too or is it like the Disney Jr. Dance "disco" thing during EMH where you can only take pictures, no autographs.

Kenny posted the set times for Palooza on the Streets of America:

2:30, 3:25, 4:15 when there is a 7:00 Fantasmic

These are the usually seen characters:

Aladdin, Belle, Genie, Green Army Man, Mary Poppins, Mulan, Pocahontas, Evil Queen, Snow White, and Stitch

Oftentimes, you may also see Pinocchio, Minnie, and Meeko.

They do pose for photos but it isn't a standard meet and greet.

you can get autographs and a quick photo, but you need your own camera (no memory maker photgraphers) and it is pretty quick. Its not like other meet and greets where you have a few minutes to chat with, this is pretty quick. And people don't really know how to be in line, so you have to kind of jump on people who cut in front of you.

Is there a specific area on Streets of America that they are at? I'd rather not be hanging out at the wrong end of the street since they come out for such a short time, if they come out at all. There are two Fantasmic scheduled on Saturday, 7pm & 8:30.

With two Fantasmics, there will be one Palooza at approximately 4:00.

Weather permitting, the characters will come from the exit area of Lights, Motor, Action and then split up on the Streets.

The characters come out by the stunt show. Personally, I waited by the "Singin' in the rain" lamppost for them. When I was there last June, the characters we saw were Mulan, Chip & Dale, Mary Poppins, one of Mary's penguins, Pocohantas & Meeko, a Green Army Man, Jafar (amazing), and Jasmine.

We got to see: chip and dale, meeko, gepetto, pocahantas, jasmin. It was really cool and did not have to stand in line long at all maybe 3-4 people per character
