What is character caravan at BW?

I read somewhere that there is a character caravan on certain days and times at the BWI or BWV. What exactly is this? Is it a place to meet characters?

As far as I know, this was the immediate replacement for Extra Magic hours (early entry) at the parks after 9/11. Since crowds were so low, they discontinued the EMH and instead had characters go to the WDW resorts in the morning. Since tourism has rebounded, this has been discontinued and the EMHs are in effect again, not only in the morning but in the evenings as well for resort guests.

There is also a Character Caravan/Disney Characters on Holiday bus that goes to different locations throughout Epcot daily. Times are listed on the Entertainment/Times guide.

I think the best answer is the now defunct meet and greet program, but the name is ringing bells like it might be close to the name of one of the shops on the Boardwalk.

The Character Caravan stopped when the EE mornings started back up. They really weren't a very bit hit with the guests, although I had fun with Timon at the Contemporary on the occasion that we were there during one.

I was staying at BWI during the character caravan year, I'm sure we were the minority but we actually liked it! That trip we had decided not to be commando and do no ee days, well lo and behold they eliminated ee and gave us cc. On two of our mornings we greeted characters and had really good interactions, actually some of our best character experiences! That was where Sir Foulfellow trip to "steal" my two children off down the hall to the Island of lost boys, it was funny but did catch me off guard. Also the Queen of Hearts overhead me tell DS that she wasn't very pretty so she was very scornful of me, DS loved that! Too bad each resort couldn't have CC one day per week.
