What is best at Citricos?

Hi,
We have ADR's at Citricos and have never been there! Wanted to eat at MK during MNSSHP - but every restaurant was totally booked the entire night! so I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for for some of their best meals at Citiricos? Thanks.

My wife and I had a veal and scallops dish that they had just added to the menu when we ate there a little over 3 weeks ago, it was excellent.

Citrico's is one of the handful of resturants in WDW where you are safe ordering anything on the menu.

Listen to your sever, order what sounds best to you, and enjoy.

One of my favorites. Everything has always been fantastic. It sounds like you got lucky by getting shut out of the MK restaurants. Citricos is much better. The gateau of crab is very good and last time I had the veal shank that out of this world. DW had the filet which as far as I could tell from the bite I stole was very good. Can't wait until we go back on next trip in January. Maine

My DH and I agree that Citricos is one of the top 5 restaurants at WDW (that we have been to so far!)

You cannot go wrong there. As a matter of fact....now you have me thinking about adding it to our Oct ADRs! thanks!

Appetizer: Foie Gras Ravioli
Entree: Braised Veal Shank
Dessert: Tropical Fruit Creme Brulee
Drink: Apple Margarita

When I was there last the waiter was very good at recommending menu items. The choices above were what I ordered and are apparently considered house specialties.

I have to agree Citrico's is a must do for us. Everything is excellent...I think we have had everything on the menu. Just choose what you are in the mood for. It is always excellent and we dine there at least twice every trip. We will be there soon Not only is the food wonderful but the service is excellent. If you are a wine drinker, let the waiter choose the wine for you, you will not be disappointed.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate your help. I am now pretty excited about going. I owuld never have thought to order the veal shank or foie gras ravioli - now it sounds like a must! I will let you know what we think on our return.

I ADORE Chef Gray! This is my #1 resaurant at the World two years running. I recommend the foid gras ravioli, the onion tart, the shrimp & feta appetizer, the lamb and the veal shank.

You can't go wrong here. The food is sooo good it will make you cry!

I hesitated to post since I had a less then pleasurable first time experience at Citroco's in April 2004. Our waiter seemed to be very busy with other diners, and kept putting us off when we tried to get his attention for water, cocktails, and even to order our meals. It was about an hour before he took our orders.

As for the food, my veal was the toughest I have every had. My son had the filet, ordered it medium-well and it came out raw. After sending it back twice, he ended up with a grilled cheese sandwich (the filet was taken off of the bill.)

We were there with a friend who had previously raved about the service and food, and so we made our ADR. She was also disappointed, but went back this past July, and said the food was better but the service still left a lot to be desired.

I'm still leary so I'll be skipping Citroco's this January. I hope you have a better experience!

The braised veal shank is phenomenal! Huge, very flavorful...falls right off the bone when the server brings it to your table.

For an appetizer, their quail dish is very good.

Desserts are all very nice, too.

Do the wine pairings.

But I'd do the veal shank....it's one of their specialties.

The salmon was superb! Also a an appetizer the crab gateau (sp?) was delish!

Go for the wine pairing as well. Our server was more than helpful when recomending wines.

Everything is good! The filet is really good and I had a really good grouper entree once. Desserts are fantastic too.
