I am SURE that Adam Duritz is my soulmate, but DH gets horribly offended when I say that out loud.

I love all of the Counting Crows CD's. I am also a huge fan of 10,000 Maniacs (Natalie Merchant). It is rare that I rush out and buy a new CD - I like the existing stuff.

Although it is April the 3 year old I nanny asks for "Halloween music" every time we get in the car. So we listen to, what else? "The Nightmare Before Christmas"!

"My compliments from me to you on this your most intriguing hat! Consider though this substitute, a bat in place of this old rat. Oh, no, no, no now that's all wrong! This thing will never make a present! It's been dead for much too long! Try something fresher, something pleasant! Try again! Don't give up!"

Ha ha! Maybe I will have the whole thing memorized for my October trip! I'll be the one in the Jack T-shirt spouting lyrics! :rotfl:

Hahaha I just posted some pictures of Adam over in the "who do you think is hot" thread if you want to go drool.... ;)

I don't think they have any songs I don't like. They are one of only 4 bands/artists whom I will go out and buy the cd the day a new one comes out. The others are : Loreena McKennitt, Evanesence and a band no one has ever heard of called October Project (who no longer are together but when they were...:))

October Project...I borrowed a co workers cd about 8 years ago and popped into my cd player on my drive home. I got chills so bad from the first song that I actually felt like pulling over to the side of the road...

Love the Nightmare B4 Xmas stuff. I have a ton of Nightmare "stuff" around the house!

Thought of another lyric I LOVE...

"From nowhere came the age of the cathedrals
The old world began
A new unknown thousand years
For man just has to climb up where ths stars are
And live beyond life
Live in glass and live in stone"

From Notre Dame de Paris

Absolutely beautiful song & show...

OK - on my way to the "Who do you think is hot" thread.

October Project sounds vaguely familiar but maybe I am confusing it with something else.

I used to have a tape by Marillion called "Misplaced Childhood". It was amazing. In fact, I just went and found it. It's from 1985!

"By the way, didn't I break your heart? Please excuse me, I never meant to break your heart. So sorry, I never meant to break your heart. But you broke mine." "Kayleigh" Marillion

"I bear more grudges than lonely High Court Judges" - The More You Ignore Me The Closer I get" by Morrissey.

It's not natural normal or nice
The flesh you so fancifully fry
It's sizzling blood and the unholy stench of murder. Meat is Murder - The Smiths.

" I'm gonna do a little mattress dancin',
that's right I said mattress dancin'..."
Sin Wagon -Dixie Chicks

Great song to belt out in the car. :teeth:

"I'm the king of the castle,
You're the dirty rascal, crash into me." - "Crash Into Me" from the Dave Matthews Band

"guilty feet have got no rhythm" -"Careless Whisper" by George Michael

Both of these used to make me laugh when I heard them.

Welcome my son. Welcome to the Machine. It's all right, we know where you've been.....

Pink Floyd, Welcome to the Machine.

And,

I'll See You on the Dark Side of the Moon

Pink Floyd.... best band ever.

Another really good one from "Crash" is

"you wear nothing but you wear it so well"

Without at doubt...

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

"Time" from Dark Side of the Moon

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon.

"Comfortably Numb" from The Wall

Of course, I could've chosen any one or two lines from almost any Pink Floyd song.

No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun. (my husbands favorite).

Some of mine:

Lately it occures to me what a long, strange trip it's been.

But I would slave to learn the way to sink your ship of fools.

The wheel is turning and you can't slow down,
You can't let go and you can't hold on,
You can'tgo back and you can't stand still,
If the thunder don't get you then the lightning will.

I feel it in my head, I feel it in my toes
I feel it in my sex, that's the place it goes.

The harder they come, the harder they fall.

Those are off the top of my head, I'll have to think of some more.

"I'm seeing a tunnel at the end of all these lights"- Travis "Why does it always rain on me"

"Have you come here to play Jesus to the lepers in your head? "- U2- One

"some people say there's a woman to blame...
but i know.....
it's my own *amn fault" :)

- brings me back to the "old peachweb plantation" days LOL
made many-a-friend there and learned A LOT about servers.

Twinklebug - lol - just thought I'd let you know from one parrothead to another - it's not "lost sugar and salt", it's "lost shaker of salt"
I did think it was pretty funny when I read your post because my youngest DD sings lost sugar and salt, too!! LOL :wave2:

"Don't turn me home again/ I just can't face myself alone again." - Thunder Road, Bruce Springsteen

"The present's just a pleasant interruption to the past." - Konstantine, Something Corporate

"You want to be alone when we could be alive instead." - Acquiesce, Oasis

"The first star I see may not be a star/We can't do a thing but wait/So let's wait for one more." - For Me This is Heaven, Jimmy Eat World

sorry, i couldnt pick just one or two....

here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

And in the darkest night,
If my memory serves me right,
I'll never turn back time
Forgetting you, but not the time

I know I don't know you
But I want you so bad
Everyone has a secret
But can they keep it
Oh no they can't

I ain't here to argue about his facial features
Or here to convert atheists into believers
I'm just trying to say the way school need teachers
The way Kathie Lee needed Regis that's the way yall need Jesus

ok, thats enough, lol!! i could go on for days. :teeth:

I've always liked Unanswered Prayers by Garth Brooks
"Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers"

They send you off to high school where you learn to read and write,
so you can walk into the county bank and sign away your life.

--Someday

i know these were mentioned already..but...

Our lives, are better left to chance,
I could have missed the pain,
But I'd have had to miss, the dance.

Garth Brooks

"And wrinkles only go where the smiles have been"
Barefoot Children in the Rain - Jimmy Buffett
