I want to find an air scent or candle that smells like real pine trees, not Pine-sol.

Any suggestions?

I LOVE red berries and Ceder from Yankee Candle, not pine but really yummy. I also have one of the frebreeze candles, the pine kind, can't remember the name, that one is really good smelling as well

I have a candle problem that DF's mom feeds:lmao:

Bath and Body works has Slakin & Co candles and their Fresh Balsam candle is BY FAR the best one for smelling like a Christmas tree. I have the Yankee Candles others have suggested and they are good but this Slakin & Co is a LOT better!!! It has a very strong scent that spreads through a room without even being lit!

Christmas Wreath candles from Yankee Candle. Their Balsam and Cedar is also good too.

That is what I am burning right now. Great pine scent!!!

Slakin & Co makes wonderful scents. I will have to check out the Fresh Balsam in time I visit B&BW's!!

Yankee Candle Balsam & Cedar or Mistletoe are FANTASTIC. My mom had a Mistletoe jar candle burning in the living room almost all Thanksgiving weekend and it smelled like they had a real Christmas tree up instead of an artificial one.

And I don't know if the sale's still on, but at least Mistletoe was on sale as one of the fragrances of the month at Bed, Bath & Beyond, so I bought a bunch for 25% off. :thumbsup2

I second this recommendation! They had the Fresh Balsam oil in the oil warmers at my local Bath & Body Works and I had to purchase several of them because the scent was wonderful. The whole store smelled like a Christmas tree.

I agree. I was a die hard Yankee Candle fan, but the Balsam candle from Bath Body Woks is even better.

Hmm... I have both the Fresh Balsam and the Evergreen in my house right now - one upstairs and one downstairs. I think the Evergreen smells more like a real pine scent - althought I like the Balsam and it is a very clean smell. I just think the Evergreen smells more realistic to what pine would smell like.

Anyone tried the Tree scent from B&BW? I've only seen it online...

I love the B&BW candles! They are so much better than Yankees! :) I was going to suggest Fresh Balsam, too.

I used to be a Yankee candle fan, until I got my first Slatkin and Co candle.

They burn much more cleanly than Yankee (no yucky black residue) and they burn evenly. When my candle is gone, the jar is empty all the way to the bottom. It doesn't just burn down the middle like Yankees do.

I'll never buy another Yankee candle. I'm hooked on Slatkin candles now. :goodvibes

You know, if you use an Illuma-lid (or knockoff Illuma-lid, or even a ring of tin foil around the top of the candle), ANY candle will burn cleanly down, not just down the middle.

I work from home now and therefore burn a couple of candles roughly 8 hours a day; I was so happy to learn that these things actually work!

I refuse to burn any candle now without using one of those things on it, even cheapie Glade candles get a metal candle ring/lid type thing I got from a Hallmark store (MUCH cheaper than Illuma-lids, but not really decorative or anything...they fit on a wider variety of jar sizes, too.)

ETA: Michaels also has the knockoff Illuma-lids and you can often find ones on clearance that are from the previous season (like that have summer designs in winter, etc.) They work just as well. I use the tinfoil trick on my big jar Colonia Candles because they're oval-shaped. I just put foil over the far ends of the oval and that causes the heat to stay close to the candle longer without just dissipating out of the top and therefore makes the wax melt evenly across the surface of the candle.

I have Balsam and Cedar currently but found that Mistletoe by YC is the most Christmas Tree smelling one. I don't know if it was November or December that they are one of the 25% off ones ... I am hoping December because I need some!

With the Slatkin candles, you don't need anything around the top to get them to burn evenly. :)

And the jars are crystal clear when the candle is finished, not all black and sooty like the YC. :)

I posted something similar the other week. I said that I was upset that we don't have a real tree, so I don't get the pine smell in the house. Well CAnn suggested going to the arts and crafts store and getting pine OIL. You put in on a cotton ball, and put them around the house. I haven't gotten any yet, but hope to do so soon. Maybe tonight!!
