That may b a stupid question but I am a newbie here and don't know anything about getting a PIN... So someone please enlighten me! We r headed to WDW for our first trip in April!!!

When you're in the list of threads under the Resorts-Codes board, there are some "sticky" threads at the top that should help you out...good luck & enjoy your trip! :thumbsup2

hammbone, :welcome: to the DIS boards  You came to the right place to learn about Disney and Disney trip planning :yay: There is no such thing as a stupid question, we have all been first timers once :goodvibes

A pin code is something that is attached to your name and/or your e-mail address through Disney websites. It will then allow you to book your vacation with whatever discount or code was in your e-mail. These come from Disney Destinations but the subject is never "pin code included here"! They kind of hide the code down in the message. Some examples are for free dining, room discounts or the current free gift card promotions. They are usually restricted to certain dates and there is usually a "book by date".

Have you booked your April trip yet? If so, did you take advantage of either the gift card promo or the percentage off room rates? If you go to the Disney website you will see some banners for specials. If you click on them it will take you to a screen where you can check for availability for your dates and desired resort. You can have fun pricing out different options. Just let me know if you need any help with this and I will be happy to walk you through it. So would a lot of other people here :) I will be going to the Port Orleans French Quarter  from 4/23 to 5/2 :cloud9: Even if you have already booked your reservation it is possible to modify it if your trip meets the requirements and have one of the deals applied :woohoo:

Happy planning and I can't wait to hear about your first trip :thumbsup2:

You are so sweet. Yes we have already booked our trip thru AAA for 4/6-4/10 (i know - spring break - the busiest time EVER, right?! But we really couldn't avoid that time option for us) Anyway, what number can I call to find out if we do have a PIN? And if we do - is it too late to use any discounts since we have already booked??

Thanks so much for your helpfulness!
Stephanie

Well.. I dug around and found the number to call to see if I had a PIN and we did!!! for 40% off our room!!! YAY!! Thanks so much - I am so glad I found these boards or I would have NEVER called to ask!!!

WHOAA!!! So I found all my deleted emails from DD and several have pin codes, how do you know which one to use? Or do I call and ask? Will you still get the gift card?

Stephanie (hammbone), you are so very welcome, I am glad I could help :goodvibes I am so happy you got a pin for your fist trip :yay: Where are you staying? With 40% off, I am assuming it's one of the deluxe resorts :woohoo: Don't worry about the crowds, knowing that going in will be helpful. Just make sure you take advantage of rope drop at all the parks :thumbsup2 By getting there first thing you can get a lot more done, take a break and go back to your resort so you will be refreshed for another go-round at night :tink: Did you get park hoppers for your tickets ~ that means you can go to more than one park a day :cloud9: For example, you could go to Animal Kingdom for rope drop, take a break and then go to Magic Kingdom for the SpectroMagic parade and the Wishes fireworks at night  If you don't have park hoppers, you can go to the same park as many times as you want on that day only. So if you start at Animal Kingdom you could go to rope drop, take a break and then go back to Animal Kingdom (only) later in the day. Remember, there is no way you can see and do all that Disney has to offer in one trip ;) Here is some pixiedust: for a marvelous, memory filled, magical first trip, Mary

Sarah,(momamac), you can play around on the Disney website to see what deal might be the best one for you. I always have a lot of fun doing that first before I call to make my reservations :yay: You can also called and tell the CM what pins you have and that you need them to figure out which one will give you the best deal  You can modify a reservation after you have booked if you meet the travel date requirements and there is availability for the resort you want :goodvibes I booked my 9 day trip with my 35% off moderates pin and then modified it to take advantage of the $500 gift card for the first 5 nights and still keep the 35% off for the last 4 nights :woohoo: This saved me an additional $280 for a total savings of almost $800 which took care of our airfare :dance3:
