What is a Grand Gathering?

I've been reading alot about large groups having a grand gathering #. What is this all about? We will be going in 2006 with a family group of 13. I thought the Magical Gatherings promotion would end when the Happiest Celebration on Earth began. Is there still something for large groups? If so, what is it and how do I get it and would we even want it. In other words, any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We went to the breakfast at Tony's in Magic Kingdom and really enjoyed it. Hope this helps.

Well, the Grand Gathering is not canceled. My family and I are heading to Walt Disney World May 12 - 21 and we are are group of 12. I have booked the Grand Gathering Fireworks Voyage and the Grand Gathering Breakfast at Tony's. I have had no real problems with booking my rooms or getting the experiences that I wanted, but you must remember to book as early as possible. Also I am an AP holder and I booked all my rooms real early through the Grand Gathering People, (a separate phone number then the regular booking number) and when the codes came out for AP discounts I was able to get all 4 of my rooms which are at the WL taken care of with the discount. And since you call the special Grand Gathering Phone Number for the AP discounts, I got right through and did not have to wait. When I get back from my Grand Gathering I will write about everything and let you know how it went.

The link was great for explaining the Magical Gathering. Just wondering if theis is a permanent thing to assist large groups ( ie, we can take advantage when we go in 2006) or does it expire once the other promotion for 2005 takes over.
