This past week, I went to the Florida DMV in Brevard County to obtain a Florida ID card. We own a condo in Florida and I brought all the appropriate documentation. My goal of course was to take advantage of the Florida Resident Discounts at Disney and other parks. Please don't flame me. We pay significant real estate taxes in Florida. The DMV agent asked why I wanted the card. I gave an honest answer that we were interested in theme park discounts. He explained this would not work at Disney. I got the card anyway. It only cost $10. It states right on it that it is a Florida Identification Card. It has a red title bar and my Florida condo address on it. Are there different ID cards for residents and nonresidents? I believe this will work to get the resident discount. I am just not so sure why the agent was adamant that it would work? Does anyone have any experience with this?
