I have seem posts here mention dedicated 2 bedroom, dedicated studio, ect. Am I missing something? Are these rooms different than a regular room? Forgive, but I am new to this, I haven't even had my first trip "home" yet.

All DVC rooms are either dedicated or lock-off. A lock-off studio and 1BR connect to form a lock-off 2BR. A dedicated 2BR cannot be broken down into a studio/1BR.

Dedicated studios and 1BR villas do not have a connecting door and cannot be combined to form a 2BR.

Enjoy!

Most studios have a connecting door to a one-bedroom unit next door. These doors can be opened to make a "2 bedroom lock-off" unit. A dedicated studio is NOT attached to a one-bedroom. A dedicated 2 bedroom is NOT a studio plus a one-bedroom - it does NOT have the separate exterior entry door in the studio portion. I've never stayed in one, but I don't think it has a kitchenette in the studio, either. If you aren't traveleing with small children, it probably won't make much difference to you either way.

if you only want a studio - then because there is no connecting door to a 1-bedroom - the dedicated are generally quieter.

Since the 1-bedroom is a lot larger - there is not as much a difference.
