What is a better deal?

I have booked March 20th - 27 on the stay 4 get 3 plan. I'm going to have to call soon anyway and disc some things with WDW and now I'm wondering if I should price the new deal with the $500 giftcard for booking 5nights/6days

Here is my deal I have ressies with now:

CBR Pirate room with water view 7 nights, 7 day park tix (no hopper or water), and DDP (CS/TS)
2876.82 (2 adults, 2 kids - 6,4)

I'm wondering if booking same thing for 5 nights and getting $500 gift card and then booking room only for 35% off and using gift card on tix and food for two days would be the way to go??

If you get the gift card, you have to pay rack rate for your room.

You're looking at saving around $70/night with a 35% off discount, which would equal around $350 for a 5 night stay.

Technically, the Gift Card would be a better value, but only if you use the whole thing. Chances are you will eventually.

This is exactly what we are doing. 5 night package with 5 day of tix and ddp. It saved us a bunch of money. Our schedule happened to be set up that our preferred and more $ dining ressies were at the beginning of the trip. So this split stay actually worked out really well for us planning wise and food cost wise. We are paying oop for a cheaper (compared to other dinner ressies) TS breakfast on our last day out instead of paying for ddp for 2 more days and using it as a TS dining credit. We also dropped a reservation that we really weren't in love with, but scheduled because of the dining plan and instead we will take the boys to TREX for dinner - which I'm sure they will love. We are using the gift card for remaining room only balance, ddp tips, tix upgrade to 7 days, and oop food. Just make sure you schedule your room only nights after your package so that you will have your tickets from the package.
