I caught your attention there, didn't I? Sorry if I made it sound like an emergency. :rotfl: I just had a question.

Why is everyone making such a fuss about FastPass Plus?

I've read a few trip reports that hardly mention them at all, meaning that they're not a nuisance but slightly helpful!

Then I haul my backpack of Disney movies over here for a sit and see people all across the board saying how ghastly they are!

I'm not here to contradict you all, because this years trip is the first time I'll be using them, and I did some research and whatnot, but I was wondering if someone could explain to me what all this ruckus is about?

Thanks very much!

I guess if you read some of the threads where people detail their issues about FP+, you know what the ruckus is about. I haven't used it yet, and don't have much to say about it yet, except I don't like the concept of tiering, and don't think that three FP+ is nearly enough in MK. Maybe it will work ok for me, maybe not, but people have made their reasons pretty clear.

Haha, thanks you guys for understanding my confusion, and for the links! :goodvibes

It is a massive change in touring for many people on here

1. The limit of 3 is much lower than what many people were able to pull on their own.
2. Tiering reduced the number of real FPs in DHS and EP.
3. Offsite is at a disadvantage now, where before everyone was equal in terms of the park experience.
4. Local APs have lost a bit of the spontaneity.
5. Harder to plan with big groups, groups made up of different kinds of ticket holders (ex: meeting up with your grandparents who live in Fl but aren't staying onsite, that kind of thing)
6. Many things that should not have a FP on them are now FP+-enabled...kind of feels like a fraud (I'm looking at you Figment and Captain EO)
7. Many of the shows that they have FP+-enabled are also borderline frauds in some people's opinions, as the FP+ doesn't even guarantee you seat, never mind a good seat.
8. There have been many technical problems with the bands that people have spent hours of their vacation trying to sort out (including me).
9. The app is glitchy and cumbersome.
10. Loss of spontaneity in terms of park days, where before depending on the weather, if your kids were sick, etc, you could easily switch what park you were going to that day.

~With the old fp, you could run around all morning collecting fp's until they all ran out around noon and then you could use them anytime you want after your return window opened. We used to hoard fp's to use later in the evening and give away what we didn't want to other guests. It was fun while it lasted. The rules are strictly enforced with the implementation of Magic Bands and FP+.

~But, I don't miss the old legacy fp, at all. And, if given the choice, we would choose fp+ every time! :cool1:

Since when does the Dis need a reason to get all in a ruckus? ;)

Consider this crisis to be a break from all the threads about line jumpers, tour groups, Soarin' film debris, the Yeti not working, ride breakdowns, etc. ;)

It's a touchy subject around here!!! We had a good experience with it, although not without a couple of hiccups in the beginning. There are other folks that had to waste a lot of valuable vacation time getting the "kinks" worked out. I think everyone should try for themselves to see how it works.
