Many years ago, My wife, kids, and I went on a lovely hike up to Ouzel Falls in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a long hike and I lugged a tripod and a bunch of camera gear. I got some OK shots, but nothing I was particularly excited about.
When we got back to our campsite, my wife and kids took a nap. I looked around our weedy campsite and decided to try some macro shots of the weeds. They turned out to be my favorite shots of the day. Below are a few samples. It was a good lesson to me that you can sometimes find subjects that delight you in the most ordinary places.
