What if you hate your resort?

Has anyone ever checked-in only to find you really didn't like your resort? What did you do?

I have never "hated" a WDW resort. I have heard of some people being so dissatisfied that they asked to move to another resort. I have stayed at ALL the WDW resorts with the exception of some Home Away from Home resorts (DVC) and I have never, ever hated one....I guess I am just easy to please. :)

I can't imagine hating a resort, we quickly found that Pop was not for us but thankfully did several hotels in one week so we stayed our 2 days and then moved to the next place. Come to think of it, we stay in lots of hotels each year and I've never hated one... but yes, if you find yourself hating one, you are welcome to see about moving to another resort =)

If there's space somewhere else they will let you switch but I'm not sure if you have to pay more (if for example while moving from a moderate to a deluxe). I would imagine you'd have to pay the difference.

After a cruise in 2003 we checked into AKL for the first time ever. We didn't like the feel of the resort, it was just too dark for us coming off a bright sunny cruise...so we switched to Port Orleans. Naturally the cost was less so we were credited the difference, but they were happy to move us.

We just stayed at the Yacht Club last month and did not like it at all. We ended up switching to CR concierge and were much happier. I wont stay out of the big 5 again!!!! I love AKL suites and WL Presidential.

We were not thrilled with the Boardwalk after checking in last year. We had spent the first part of the week at the AKL and were disappointed with BW. We decided that it was only three nights so we would just deal with it. It ended up being just fine and we liked the location next to Epcot, but I don't think we will ever stay there again.

I guess we like something a little more exotic. This year we are staying at the Poly and then AKL.

I just wanted to complement you on your nice family photo! :flower:

As for whether I've hated my hotel, the answer would be no. We've always been pleased. But I've heard other Dis'ers say they asked to be moved. I can't remember if they had to pay more though. :confused3

You can call CRO directly from your room phone and arrange other resort accomadations if they are available. Certainly you have to pay the differance if you are going up a level.

I had a rotten experience at CSR and wanted out before I had spent one night. I didn't complain at all just called CRO to switch, they agreed to switch me even honored an AP rate for 2 rooms. I was very surprised to get a call from CSR management wanting to know why I wanted to leave the property so quickly. ( That I was thought was odd) As I had never complained specifically just said I wasn't happy and CRO called and passed that on to them.

All in all the switch very easy. And I am so glad I didn't stick it out and that I did move to where I was happier. :wizard:
