what if you can't dock at Castaway Cay?

I've been reading some new trip reports and another thread on the disappointment with the weather and not docking at Castaway Cay. We're doing the 4-day in May and as my luck would have it, we'll probably run into rain. Anyway, it seems I've read somewhere that with the 4 day, if not able to dock the first time, you get a second chance the next day. Is that not so?

If your cruise isn't going to Freeport (do they still do that?), then you should get a second chance. I think the intinerary calls for Castaway Cay on Tuesday, then a day at sea on Wednesday, so if conditions don't permit docking on Tuesday, they could try again Wednesday.

Rain in and of itself probably wouldn't prevent docking. It's usually high winds or currents which cause problems. I've heard that if the ship can't dock at Castaway Cay that they move Cookie's Barbeque to deck 9 and just have another day at sea. I'm sure it would be disappointing to miss Castaway Cay, but I don't think it happens too often. Luckily, we've never missed.

There's actually no guarantee you'll stop at any port. We've been re-routed once, to Key West instead of St. Maarten on the 7-day.

LAST YEAR WE WERE ON THE 7 DAY. WE DID NOT MAKE IT INTO CASTAWAY CAY. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. WE LEAVE FOR OUR NEXT 7 DAY APRIL 27TH. WE ARE HOPING THAT THIS YEAR ALL WILL GO AS PLANNED. THEY TOOK US TO FREPORT, BUT WE ALL OPTED TO SPEND THE DAY ON THE SHIP WHILE AT PORT.
