What?! I Won?! Woohoo! Disneyland/Disney World PTR **On Our Way!**

So, I have most of DDs' activity books printed, just need to get them put together. I'm just putting them in a binder because that's what I have on hand :thumbsup2 I'll have to get pictures of those up too!

I am also going to pick up suitcases from my parent's house this weekend :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

Also need to check out my clothes this weekend, see what I have! I bought a new bathing suit  What a horrible shopping experience :rotfl2: but I LOVE the water and want to make sure we have time to check out the pool!

I think I have pretty much everything we need, except the ITINERARY! I really am having a hard time waiting so long to get it! I have so many questions that won't be answered until we get that.

Have I mentioned I can be a pretty impatient person :rolleyes1 I have been trying really hard to be patient, BUT I'm so excited that I can't wait to get our package! I am really crossing my fingers that it comes tomorrow or Saturday ;)

It's going to be a long flight for me to LA. And I don't do well on planes (very envious of those that have no fear). I say bottoms up for all of us!
A little Xanax can do wonders!

I was going to ask my doctor for a small dose. I don't want to get too loopy though.:crazy2:
I'm afraid, very afraid of flying. My daughter's high school band went to New York last year to play in Carnegie Hall and I turned down a paid trip because of my fear of flying when plans were beginning to be made. Fast forward to two weeks before the trip, one of the chaperones became very ill and they offered me to go in her place free of charge. I accepted that time against my better judgement. I contacted my doctor and asked if she would prescribe me some Xanax (never taken it before) to calm my nerves. A friend of mine who was also going as a chaperone told me it would do wonders!

Two days before the trip, I had to begin taking the Xanax. My nerves were shot. Unfortunately, my doctor only prescribed me five of the little pills. Fortunately, my friend that recommended the drug had an abundance of them and was my druggist ;) for the trip. I took one the morning before leaving the house for the airport and then had to take another before getting on the plane. We were only in New York for three days so I had to take another one or two while there for nerves because of the flight home. I ended up taking three the day of by the time I got on the return flight.

Xanax never made me loopy or dopey. It just calmed my nerves, took the edge off. It really helped. I would take them again should I ever have to get back on a plane. I don't plan on it but you never know. Maybe I'll win a trip to Disney World someday!

Xanax or Ativan

They will not get you loopy.....the doc will prescribe you the mildest dose, so dont worry.

Last year flying from PHL to Las Vegas I took one before getting on the plane and one around the rockies......I have a fear of flying, mostly take off and turbulence. Just remember to let the medicine work. If you are all geared up and antsy, it will not work on you.

oh....and yes.....I did drink a few on the plane and was still fine. Wasnt loopy or anything.

Good to know! I may have to look into that for DFi. He is terrified of flying and has never flown before. Personally for myself, I'm hoping I will be able to calm myself down enough to not even think about it (This is probably wishful thinking! :rotfl2:)

15 Days and Counting!

According to the Disney Rep (Thanks NC_Mom!) Our packages are suppose to come Mid-week. I'm really hoping she is right this time, it's getting so close, and not having any airline/hotel confirmations in my hand is making me nervous :scared: Working on that being patient thing!

I have been trying to think of snacks to bring on the planes for us. So far, I have gotten jolly ranchers for DFi and I (We are smokers, I know bad habit, and well...those are pretty long plane rides we are going to be on :lmao:). But I'm not sure what to get for my DD's. I want some things that are easy to travel, don't make a mess, and won't make them too thirsty. That has probably left me with no options  What do you bring on the plane for the kids to snack on? I need some good ideas!

Finally got some pictures!

So here's a picture of my new bag. It came with a change purse which I think I am going to use as a wallet while we are gone. The strap is long enough on the bag that it will fit across me. It's nice and lighweight too. I think it will work great :thumbsup2

Here are a couple pictures of the activity books I made for the girls. I can't beleive how many pages I found to print (my printer is tired!). I don't think I will print off anymore, I don't want them to get too heavy ;)

I'm trying to remember what snacks I brought on my last plane trip. I think I brought some gummy bears, trail mix, some of those snack bags of cookies/crackers. Yep I know those things will make them thirsty. Maybe carrot/celery sticks?

Love your purse for the trip. I am looking for a backpack since I have a baby coming too. I'm not having much luck.

Where did you find the activity sheets at? Are they on this forum somewhere? I think my daughter would love that!

Hi, yah the sheets are great. You can check them out on this thread. I know it's long, but so worth it! :thumbsup2

Thank you! Thank you! :worship: I think these will be a life saver on those long flights!

Yep, I thought so too! I was psyched when I found that thread! :thumbsup2 I had to go buy new ink for my printer, and now that I am done...I think I need to buy more :rotfl:

Nothing too exciting, BUT I did pick up suitcases from my parent's house yesterday, 2 big ones (one for me and one for DFi), a medium sized one for DD11, and a small one for DD6. Also the matching "just in case" duffle bag :thumbsup2

I went shopping today and got myself 2 pairs of bermuda shorts (which are actually more like capris :confused3) and 2 new tops. :woohoo:

We all went out this afternoon and DFi bought a new bathing suit (I think secretly he is getting excited!)

I was tyring to make a plan of attack for this week and next weekend. I need to make our packing list for each of us. I also need to go get a cell phone wall charger. Mine broke awhile back, so I have just been using the car charger, but since we won't have a car, I don't think that's going to work while we are gone :rotfl:

I also want to get the rest of the snacks we are going to need while on the plane.

And of course, I will be praying that our itinerary comes this week :scared: I can't wait to check it out! :wizard:

14 days and counting! Woohooo!!! :wizard: :woohoo: :yay: :cool1:  :cheer2: ::MinnieMo:smickey:

Sadly, I have no exciting news to report :sad2: Our confirmations still have no been sent out yet. Possibly going out tomorrow, but not positive. This is really starting to take all my excitement away. I feel like I am planning for a trip that is pretend! :sad1:

So, anyway..planning for my pretend trip :rotfl: 11 Days and Counting, I can't beleive it! I think I will start packing my dds' this weekend, and maybe some of mine too. I have to run some errands and pick up a new phone charger (mine is broken) and probably the snacks for the plane. I have to go grocery shopping also, but don't want to buy too much stuff that will spoil while we are gone. Other than that, I think we have everything we need.

Before I do anything, I need to make packing lists! ;) Haven't even done that yet. I found a master packing list online, and will probably take it from there. :thumbsup2

Hopefully Friday I'll be able to share the itinerary! I'll be praying they get sent out tomorrow!

Can you believe you leave in just 10 days?!?!

Praying that your itinerary comes in very, very, very soon.

No, I can't beleive it's only 10 days! Single digits starting tomorrow!!

I hope our itinerary comes soon too! I don't know how much longer I can wait for it :worried:

Congrats and excited to hear more....

on the Xanax thing...it is better than ativan.

I have taken Xanax to fly for years. My advice is to take your pill 1 hr before take off...that gives it plenty of time to get you relaxed and ready for takeoff. I only have to take 1 for the 4.5 hr flight to Orlando...but if you need another during flight..try it...but you may get a little tired.
I take .50's....if your RX is .25 I would suggest 2 at takeoff.
also...I tend to get a little headache when we land...I think its from the combo of flying/xanax...so I have a coke and a little snack as soon as we get off the plane.

there is no reason to be scared tofly....call your dr. xanax subdues panic...and it works.

I really wish you the best time and look forward to your trip report:goodvibes

I just wanted to give you a little Disneyland tip...
we have been there 15 times or so and stayed at the Grand Cal hotel many times...you will just love it...so close and beautiful.

make an ADR for lunch at the Blue Bayou restaurant in Disneyland. The restaurant is inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and the atmosphere can not be beat. Its pricey...about $25 per person (like dworld sit down prices) but worth the splurge for experience. and its only at Dland...not to be missed.

Have a wonderful trip !!

not sure if anyone has posted this link for you but Deb's site is great for WDW and has menus/prices of all the restaurants and pics of the hotels...it should really get you excited for the trip.
its allears.net
