What I learned today!

Better than a wash cloth or hand towel is a swimmer's towel. It's small and lightweight and will absorb a lot of water. Then wring it out and use again if needed. We bought just one for the four of us and kept it in a quart size zip lock bag in the back pack. It came in handy for trying to dry off the girls between their playing in Ariel's Grotto and going to lunch at the Crystal Palace with a/c. Just remember to hang it to dry overnight hanging from the line over your tub (with the few clothespins you've packed for swim suits and such.)

In addition to $1 blue ponchos purchased at Target we took thicker ponchos by Totes that cost 6.99 for youth size and 8.99 for adult. One of each of those ripped the first day we used them. I would not waste the money on Totes ponchos again. When WDW is getting rain at the rate of 4" per day most people (including us) wore ponchos. On the plus side, we all loved "Splash Mountain" and did not get one bit wetter while riding it! :rotfl:

We lived in our ponchos for the first 4 days of our trip last August! We had trouble with our dollar store ponchos the year before so we used some of the Disney ponchos from a previous trip. They worked well - we had extras for the stroller too. What I'd like to find are the raincoats that the CMs wear - they were actual lightweight raincoats which were a longer length than you usually find in the store. I'd also like to find longer ponchos...

Can you say "SHAM-WOW"??????

Vince should cut me in on some of the profits.........

 That's the closest I see to a smack yourself in the forehead smiley. We just got one of those at a dollar store.

You probably need to request a handicap accessible room. Have you been on the DISabilities board to look for any suggestions on getting the room you need and/or for tips on getting around the parks? Everyone over there is so helpful and kind.

I will definitely do that. Thank you Michelle

It was required. You'd have to do it anyway when you show up to the desk for regular check in, but I do know some people are iffy about that kind of thing.

I have done online check in twice now and I never add a credit card and I do not do it at the front desk either.

69 To Go!

This tip is laden with questions, It is a compilation of all that I have "learned" about fastpass.

1. Fastpasses are limited, get 'em while you can! For the most popular rides you should expect them to be gone by lunch time at the latest. (Summer Crowds)
2. Fastpass time frames are not enforced. So you can basically use them anytime during the day. So as soon as you arrive get one for the most popular ride. If the standby line is manageable get in it and hold your fast pass for later.
3. Apparently, you can only get one fast pass at a time, here is where the question comes. I read somewhere that once your fastpasses opening time frame has passed you can get another. Essentially carrying two...or more. So if you show up at rope drop grab a quick fastpass for your favorite ride. Ride that one rush to your second favorite ride, ride it. Your first fastpass time will have passed and then you can get another fastpass for your second favorite. Now you have two fastpasses to use to ride your two favorite rides again.

Correct. We have had held as many as 4 fast passes due to early return times.

I am checking these tips as well. We took a swimmers towel last year too. It was very small, but did the job. It is important to have a baggie to put it into when it gets wet, or it will get everything in your bag wet.

We usually have a fastpass runner (me). When we get to a park, I go ahead and grab a fast pass for everyone while they walk over, or they do something along the way. Hopefully, we won't have too much of a need for fastpasses in Sept.

Jamie at the bottom of your FastPass it will tell you when you can get another one. This way there is no guessing.

You wouldn't believe how many people in the parks don't know about FP.

Minor correction - The END of the fastpass window is not enforced, but the beginning is pretty heavily enforced. For example, if your time frame is 10:20-12:20, feel free to show up at 3 p.m. that day, but don't bother coming at 9:45!

Love this Keep the tips coming

My best is "If you want to do Toymania, get your fast pass first thing in the morning. They run out super quick.

Also, send all your packages back to your hotel. It is a lot easier then carrying them all day and you can pick them up the next day at the store in your resort. It is so easy.:)

I had to post this pic from yesterday's discussion on ponchos.

Here I am in a little opening that is like a facade around the church in Epcot. The rain and wind was something. I'd vote for any kind of poncho. This was a heavy duty one and it filled up like a balloo
n!

Where do you find swimmers towels?

I got ours at a local dive shop. Yes, Michigan has dive shops. It was a few dollars less than the local sporting goods store. I prefer it over the shammies I have for our vehicles. The swim towel does not leave any lint and works great.

I've never understood where the idea that you can only have 1 fastpass at a time comes from. It just isn't true.

You will be able to get a new fast pass either when the window for the first one begins or 2 hours (and sometimes less than that, if you get lucky) after you got the first one.

Example:
If you get a fastpass for Soarin' at 9:30 am and the return window is 2:30 to 3:30, you will be able to get a fastpass for test track at 11:30. If the return window for that one is 5:30 to 6:30, you will still be able to get your next fastpass at 1:30, because it will be 2 hours after you got the one for test track. All that and your Soarin' window hasn't even opened up yet.
