What I learned at WDW...

At North by Northwest they have merino wool socks that keep your feet dry. They are expensive but good.Runners and walkers wear them. I fond changing your shoes half way thru the day helps. Runners in the morning and then teva's in the aft.

Capnho, I agree! Thorlos are the best. I buy about four new pairs each year, starting with my Disney trips. Did you take advantage of the closings of the Decathalon stores?? Wow. I literally went in and bought them out one day. I couldn't believe the Thorlos weren't gone. These socks were only 4.00 each. I bought about 6 pairs! What a deal. For those who aren't aware of their prices, they're normally 11.00 each per pair. They are worth every cent. The cushion is tremendous. I highly recommend them and you can get them in any sporting goods store.

My foot saving combo: (part of which i glommed of these boards)

spay feet with spray on deoderant. let dry.

put on peds nylons (the kind my gradmom used to wear) they are just little footie things that only cover your toes, bottom of foot and heel.

put on socks over peds. (the ped, sock thing is much cheaper than investing in those fancy sport socks and pretty much the same concept)

The peds and deod combo keep feet dry and the peds also provide a nice "slidey" layer between socks and feet.

Narry a hot spot much less a blister since adopting this method.

Never bring socks or shoes. We usually go in the summer and only bring sandels (cheap, expensive, doesnt matter) only all day every day. Just get wet and keep going-its great. Must have good feet I guess.

Any socks with "CoolMax" fiber. It's designed to keep your feet cool and dry. Works great.

Just FYI: TJMaxx and Marshalls stores often have Thorlos for about $4/pr. These often have a dropped stitch or two, but who's going to see that inside your shoes?

That said, I don't wear sneakers at WDW. My feet are *MUCH* happier with forced marching when they can breathe. We wear Nike Straprunners for all theme park visits these days. Doesn't matter if you get them soaking wet, either!

After trying just about everything else, I finally discovered that just wearing 2 pairs of socks makes a world of difference! I'm guessing that wearing good quality smooshy type socks would have the same effect ;)

Changing shoes halfway through the day seems to help, too, so that your foot isn't being rubbed exactly the same way all day.

I'm so very sad because I had the PERFECT pair of sandals that I could walk in for days without any pain, but I wore them out and can't find any new ones! :( RIP, Perfect Shoes!
