When I was at the Pooh store at MGM 2 weeks ago, the manager told me it was closing. He said that they are going to start limiting the Pooh characters for awhile. He said the store would be turning into a Tinker bell store because she had a new movie coming out.
This is sad for my family because I have boys. They love all things Pooh. I guess I should be happy, It's one less place I can spend $.

Did he say when they would be closing? That is very sad. :worried:

No, he just said soon. They already had one nook of the store converted to Tink.

While this shop may be limiting Pooh, he will still have a major presence in WDW. Remember, they just opened a new Pooh themed playground across from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. He is still an immensely popular character. So, hakuna matata! :cool1:

My sister is a CM at Pooh Corner in DTD. If that is the store you are referring to, they are planning on some changes. They will still carry Pooh merchandise and it will be called something like Pooh and Friends. They will also carry other character merchandise. The store will not completely close.

Feralpeg, I love the pic in your sig! Kendall is beautiful!!! :flower:

No, I was at the one at MGM.

Glad that the one at DTD won't be changing too much. Hubby would be so upset. We're going in January and he is so excited about all things Pooh. (Yes, he's 35, not 5...but he still loves Pooh.)

I hope its a little different from Tink's store in fantasyland. I love Tink (it was my nickname growing up) and when I went into that store I daresay I was disappointed. The entire store was stocked with things for guests age 10 and under. I am 24 and think that they should have more diversity at that store. Not just children love Tink. :lovestruc
*steps down from soapbox*

Let's not forget that every few years Disney makes a push for a particular character. Two years ago (or so) it was Pooh, now it'll apparently be Tink... and in another few years, who knows? I'm sure the marketing and sales guys get together and determine what will sell best and plan accordingly.

We were at WDW in September and could not find much of anything in Tigger. Spoke with a manager at Mouseworks in Epcot and he said they don't get much Pooh stuff anymore. We did notice that everything is Tink. I love her, but it was a little much. I did notice, as a previous poster did, that most of the Tink stuff is for young kids. I think that's a mistake, I grew up with Tink and would (and did) buy merchandise with her on it.

They may be cutting back on the Pooh stuff because of the lawsuits they've been facing with the family of the author.

Sorry, but I love Tinkerbell. She is "girlfriend."

I like Pooh too, but he tends to be favored amongst the infant to 5 year old crowd. Many adults love him too, but I think Tinkerbell is more popular.

I would like to see them both!

My DD (13) is a Tink lover and wannabe! She would be thrilled to find some Tink Merchandise. Where is this stoer and what is it called? I will have to put it on the list of must do's.

They aren't cutting down on Pooh and friends in the parks---we saw them EVERYWHERE. would have liked to see someone different, though we like pooh and friends as well. I think Tink merchandise covers a larger age-span. princess:

The new Tink movie is about Tink's background -- where she came from, the other fairies she knows. There is a website describing all of Tink's fairy friends, you should be able find it on the Disney website. I think there was a link to it in one of the Disney Insider emails I got. I think it will be very popular with little girls!

I hate to see the 100 Acre Woods friends pushed out though!
