If Disney World is the most popular tourist destination in the country/world then why does the Travel Channel not do any new shows of WDW? If I have to see one more show that shows Mission Space to "be the biggest technological ride of any amusement park when it opens late next year" I'm going to take my own camcorder to Disney and do my own show. And why can't there be more "Great Hotels" with Disney resorts? I don't think it's too much too ask. Oh and Food Network needs to do a show on more of the restaurants around WDW, not just a couple restaurants and snacks. Ok, I'm done. :teeth:

I agree! They could replace all of the Poker & Vegas shows with Disney shows and I'd never leave the couch!

Ditto! I used to watch the Disney Travel reruns a lot, but now its just getting old.

I think it's because Disney is trying to keep the BEST KEPT SECRET .

That they have NEW STUFF show it already.

The Mount Kilimanjaro special is new & very good. I just watched the 2 you guys are talking about.

Actually, there were a few shows on the Discovery group of channels (Travel is one of them) that involved the research for and making of Expedition Everest. All were new as of maybe 2 or 3 months ago.

But, I admit, I do get weary of the same old "Behind the Scenes at WDW" show they keep showing, which was done in 2002.

I'd like to see some re-makes of the Great Hotels shows about WL, the Grand Californian and the Grand Floridian. I love Samantha Brown, but those shows are just flighty in their presentation, and seem to focus too much on the spas (you can do a spa anywhere) or the absolute most expensive suites, rather than showing the magic of the resorts themselves.

And yes, they need to lose the Poker shows. What does playing poker have to do with travel? Oh, well, I guess you to "travel" to your buddy's house to play it.

I completely agree with your whole post. The Expedition Everest shows on Discovery were pretty good. I also agree that the Great Hotels episodes don't do a great job of showing the resort itself. Most of the time is spent in the top of the line President's suite. And I am so sick of the poker shows on Travel. Can't they get a Poker channel and put all of those ESPN and Travel Channel poker shows on there?

I've been thinking this exact same thing. I watch them but just don't get as excited about them anymore. I can almost predict the next scene in any of these shows...

...and besides all the poker crap on the Travel Channel, what about the haunted stuff? Yes, I understand alot of what they show are travel destinations, but they show too much of it...over and over and over... :confused3
