We will be at WLV for 8 nights. I'm getting ready for a net-grocer order, and am uncertain as to what basic supplies I need to bring. I know people have recommended taking a week's worth of laundry tabs, but I just don't like them, and they don't come in only a week's worth of packaging. Will I be provided with an adequate supply of

dish washing liquid
dish washing liquid (for dishwasher)
paper towels
toilet paper
soap
shampoo
soap powder for washing machine (assuming 1 load a day)
salt & pepper
trash bags

I plan on ordering from net-grocer, but don't want to order things I don't need. I am driving, however, and would be able to bring back unused supplies.

Thanks for your help.

Dishwashing liquid--you get about a 4-5 ounce bottle. I've never run out. You also get a roll of paper towels and a brand new sponge.

Dishwasher you get a packet of detergent, you can usually get two loads out of it.

We've never run out of TP, I imagine this would be complimentary if you needed more. There's always the better part of a full roll plus an extra when you check in.

Soap and shampoo, depends on the number of people. We always bring our own shampoo, always been enough soap for three of us.

There is enough laundry soap for one load. You'll need to bring this. No dryer sheets are provided.

Tiny little salt and pepper shakers are there.

There's extra trash bags in the bottom of each can.

dish washing liquid YES

dish washing liquid (for dishwasher) YES

paper towels YES

toilet paper YES

soap NO only one small soap per bath

shampoo NO only 1 small bottle per bath

soap powder for washing machine (assuming 1 load a day) NO, only 1 - 1 load box of Tide.

salt & pepper NO none provided

trash bags YES, they are stored UNDER the current bag in the trash cans

I will verify that salt & pepper shakers are no longer provided. We found out about the change during our trip in 2000. Shortly after our call, a CM came around changing the sheet listing what is contained in the unit (the one that hangs on the inside of one of the kitchen cabinet doors).

I always bring a couple extra bars of hand soap. One for the kitchen sink and one for the extra sink in the master bath. Also some foil or saran wrap for leftovers.

TP - While there is always plenty available, we buy our own at Publix down there. I just DON'T like the WDW supplied tp.

Soap powder for washing machine - I pack zip-lock type sandwich bags with a loads worth of powder in each one. I then put the 1-load bags in a heavier zip-lock bag. The double bagging has prevented any powder from leaking out in our luggage.

What kind of cooking utensils, pots and pans etc. are provided?

For laundry detergent, we purchased Surf tablets (Tide also makes them). They are individually packaged, 2 tablets per load. More convenient than purchasing a liquid brand in Orlando. I don't use powder at home, so I never had an opportunity to try Mary Ellen's suggestion, though it sounds pretty good.

All the extras will be available in the on-site store (at least, I noticed most of this stuff when we stayed at the WL, and now realize the dish soap was for the villas - struck me as odd as we were in the "normal" hotel). Its going to cost three times what it would if you swung by Target on the way in (or ordered from NetGrocer), but if you discover you are missing something, it might be "worth" it for your time to drive off site.

I've used netgrocer at home and was quite happy with them for certain kinds of stuff.

DW bought a vacum sealer. We use this to make packets of all the different soaps and supplies we need. Do the same with premade meals like chili and freeze them for cooler.:D

One thing I ALWAYS bring with me is Brillo or SOS for those pesky pans at OKW. I also bring my bacon rack for micro waving the bacon and my griddle for pancakes along with my teflon spatula.
I pack a small box of Tide in a large zip lock bag, bring little salt and pepper shakers, Dryer sheets in a small zip lock bag, Dee's cereal (they don't sell that anywhere in FL) Coffee filters (round ones), & prepackaged coffee (you can buy this at Sam's club).

For salt/pepper, I bought one of those containers with salt on one side, pepper on the other in a single shaker (camping supplies), and I keep it just for my DVC trips. I pack my own coffee filters (folding them flat) and purchase coffee when I get down there.
On my last trip, the one thing I was wishing I had was foil or plastic wrap, as DebbieB suggested. :)

opps, forgot, I bring plastic wrap and empty zip lock bags too.
And, when we shop, I save all the bags the store provides to carry the groceries home at the end of the stay.

The things I take are s&p, foil, and storage bags/plastic wrap. and dryer sheets and some liquid detergent.

Have fun, Shirley

If I might add as far as a few things to bring that you might want or need to have.....

Antacids....rolaids, tums, etc...
Bug spray....like OFF...
Painkillers....aspirin, advil, etc...
my favorite...clothspins...they can be helpful...
small flashlight....you never know...

Hope I could be of an assistance....have fun!!!

We have an ongoing list that we always bring with us in a trip notebook. We subtract and add things we found we did or did not need over the trips. We have a standard summer list and a winter list. We always bring the following items regardless of season:
Blender
Rum
Pina Colada Mix
Paper coffee filters
Coffee (+equal, dry creamer)
Salt/Pepper
Laundry Detergent (Tablets work great)
Bar of Bath Soap
Foil/Ziplocks
Sunscreen/Aloe Gel
Swim Goggles for the kids (pools can be heavily chlorinated at times)
Food/Snacks
Kids (almost forgot)

You will notice I listed items by priority. In our many trips to the Villas (we drive) these are the items we find we always make use of. We used to bring alot more but find almost everything needed is supplied.

We take Starbucks coffee, coffee filters, a non-stick fry pan, dryer sheets. We buy the rest when we get down there, which includes laundry soap(liqiuid),english muffins, butter, half and half, cheese, bacon, chips, onion dip, orange juice, cookies, soda. I hate to pack more than I absolutely have to!
