We are staying at the Regal Sun Resort. It claims to be part of the Disney World Resorts. Does anyone know if the ME is included with resort?:confused3

ME is only available at Disney owned resorts.

No. Only guests at Disney owned and operated resorts can use the Magical Express service.

Staying at the Regal Sun hotel doesn't give you free parking at the theme parks. It doesn't give you access to EMH.I'm not sure about the Regal Sun but other DTD hotels now charge for guest parking.

I went over to the Regal Sun site...they sure do make it look like they are a Disney resort. Kind of misleading to say the least.

Disney owned and operated resorts have Disney's (possessive form) in their formal names.

There is one non-Disney resort (I think it is the Hilton) on Hotel Plaza Blvd. that has extra magic hours privileges for its guests.

I don't know how many people are in the OPs family but Disney has some good discounts currently available.

You'll get DME and RAC for your return. Transportation to the parks is better. You'll be eligible to purchase the DDP.

Regal Sun charges a resort fee of $15. That includes the fridge and internet. You need to take that into account when comparing rates.

I think a Disney moderate hotel will give you a better experience. I'd probably even pick POP over Regal Sun (depending on price). DME and Disney transportation more the compensates for the hotel differences.

A car service will cost around $140 with tip. That means for a 7 night trip you'll be paying around $20 /night. Unless you're getting a very good rate at the Regal Sun the $35/night for the resort fee and transfers will eat up most of your savings vs a WDW resort.

There are loads of official Disney "Good Neighbor" hotels in the Orlando area. Unfortunatley, most have a spotty shuttle, at best, as their "Good Neighbor" perk. I stayed in one on I Drive near the convention center once & the only perk was that you could buy Disney tickets in that hotel, and they had a very limited free shuttle to Epcot.

The OP is staying at the Regal Sun (formerly Grosvenor). It's one of the DTD hotels (on Disney property). Their buses run every 20 or 30 minutes.
