Hello everybody, my brother is getting married in july and wants to go on his honeymoon in orlando...he is looking for a place relaxing yet fun, because he wants to be able to go to water parks maybe even universal or disney so basically a place in the middle of everything. price is not an issue, the sky is the limit. any suggestions??? it does not matter if its a hotel room, villa or even a house. Thanks!

Well maybe do a split stay stay at a disney deluxe the first part which you can find more info on the resorts board and a part at one of the Universal hotels the second part

If he doesn't want to stay on site - how about the Celebration hotel. it is a 'boutique' hotel & looks really lovely. Within walking distance of great resteraunts in Celebration & near to WDW.

...hmm

Well if it was my honeymoon I'd want to rent a really nice villa with its own private pool and hot tub... especially in July since the weather will be hot. I'd want to swim sans children in the afternoons. To me there's nothing romantic than my own pool.

Depends upon what type of resort activities your brother would be interested in... there are a lot of wonderful villa based resorts in the Walt Disney World area - Ginn Reunion, Windsor Hills, Highland Reserve, Indian Creek and Emerald Island are all nice places. Just look for a home with high end furnishings.

But, if I had to stay onsite, then I'd get either one of the suites at the Grand Floridian, or a 1 bedroom condo at Old Key West. You would have a really nice ginormous jacuzzi at OKW, along with a large walk-in shower.

If they decide to head to Universal, then by all means stay at one of the Universal hotels those days. I'd suggest Portofino Bay at Universal.

I hope they have lots of fun planning it!

I agree with the Portofino Bay Resort at Universal. A major plus is that their room key will get them the front of the line perk (especially useful in July when they're going to be crowded).

They might also enjoy CityWalk at Universal, and Wet N Wild is right there.

If they're going to Disney too, I agree with splitting the stay and spending the rest of it at the Grand Floridian.

a 1-bedroom at least if not 2 bedroom

at Hilton Grand vacation club
Marriott's Grande Vista
Marriott's Cypress Harbour (only 2 bedroom)

if he wants something in the middle - these are near Seaworld - so inbetween WDW and US/IOA.

but I agreed - it is easier to just stay on WDW property. I would think since they are adults that they might like Epcot and Studios a little more than MK.

so I would suggest a 1-bedroom at BWV or BCV - both Epcot resorts. Then transfer over to a Us/Ioa park for those days.

if he doesn't want a condo - but only wants a hotel

Ritz-Carlton or J W Marriott is pretty centrally located - a few blocks away from SW.

there is new condo going up

I think the Poly is very romantic, we have loved it there before kids (now we don't want to share a hotel room with 2 kids!), but they could do concierge too and have a beautiful view of the MK. We think it is so romantic taking the small boat to and from the MK, especially at dusk. It's kind of like being in Hawaii but at Disney to us, we love the hammocks, the beach areas, the pool...so pretty.

I agree with those who recommend Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal. If price is not an issue, book a suite. Make sure they request one with a balcony. Not all of the suites have them. It's a beautiful resort, & can be very romantic. They can book a cabana at the adult only pool, as well as enjoying the spa. Sitting in the piazza sipping wine & enjoying Musica della Notte (live music) is very romantic. I also agree that I would choose one of the Epcot resorts (for the location), if they want to spend time at WDW. IMHO, none of WDW's resorts would be as romantic as PBH though. If they want to avoid the parks all together, I'd go with the Ritz. Although, I can't imagine them planning a honeymoon in Orlando, if they're not wanting to go to the parks.
