What have you seen on the EA? (running thread)

Just back today..

On the A side of National we got a Oldsmobile Silouette..which very comfortably sat 7 (although only 5 of us). It rode wonderful and was easy to park..lots of lusggage room. Air was controlled by each section of seats, and the right sliding door was electric, as was the driver's seat.

There were lots of Silouette's, Dodge Caravans, some smaller SUV's (I wasn't familiar with them, so I don't remember the names), a PT crusier, and lots of various regular cars. We paid $143 for 8 days and were thrilled with our selection.

Thanks DMRick.

Do you remember what time you arrived at the EA? I have been tracking availability by time of day.

My general observation is that availability is greater in the morning (before noon) than in the evening (after 4:00 PM). Don't know if it is true or not, but I have just been watching.

More than the time of day, it is the day of the week that can count more. Saturdays are the pits and the selection can be sparse. We arrived on a Sunday at about 2:30 pm and the aisle on A side was full, lots of nice cars, full size, intermediates and one or two SUVs, no converts and no mini vans. Just remember, if you need a full size, SUV or Van, it is better to book it directly as EA is now for intermediates and anything beyond that is just luck.

oh no! Gail, you were supposed to say that Saturday afternoons (in September) at 2:30 have the MOST choices :)

We got in Tuesday at about 11 am. It really was full of vans. We thought we had the wrong aisle..but I asked and the attendant said that it was unusual to have so many, but yes, to go ahead and take one.

Arrived around 9:30 pm Friday night the 12th.A few Buick century's and a Pontiac Aztek which we took.

What is a Chevy Classic?

Arrived at the EA on 9/12 around 10:30 a.m. on the A side and found many cars, a red outback, several minivans and a grand caravan, as well as a silver Suzuki XL-7 sport utility vehicle with wood trim which we took. We thought it was a great vehicle for the week. Check in and check out went quickly - used entertainment coupon - forgot to bring entertainment book card and ea card which they never asked for - just gave them coupon and a copy of our print out and was charged that exact amount at return.

Could anyone enlighten me? Which side at MCO is USAirways on, A or B? Is one side better than the other? Is there a difference?

Thanks

I think it's really the luck of the draw which side is better when you get there. It depends on how many people returned cars to each side that day. They may also shuttle cars between the two sides if it gets really unbalanced. United & USAirways are both B. I've always flown USAirways and rented from B, never had a problem except one time I reserved a compact with an upgrade coupon, there was no intermediates in the garage, so they upgraded me to full size (although it was a Malibu, I really don't consider it full size). The other times there has been a decent selection.

That info can be found on the Orlando airport site.

The side does not matter.
